It seems Jack is interested in paying a substantial amount of money to someone only if we send someone to his doorstep. And that is my issue with this thread... it's taking advantage of the free helpfulness and time of a lot of random people on the internet who feel obligated to help. I've already posted my 2 cents so I'll see the door after this comment, but I'm sure other people are getting the same energy from this thread, hence the negative posts. While this thread may be entertaning it is also instructive showing that speculation has no place in solving technical issues especially from afar. Jack seems to have valid intentions but needs to realize that while he may survive this battle he will have lost the war by not succumbing to the calls for a full reset. There is nothing wrong with a reset. Everyone wishes that we could do one in our daily life. The thing is you need to establish a baseline and take it from there. Plug away Jack but don't say that we didn't give you the right answer. sp Edited February 15, 20233 yr by Sky_Pilot071

February 15, 20233 yr Hi Jack, just a thought - are you using Windows Game Mode On or Off, you could try toggling it, it is meant to minimise background processes whilst gaming when On…

February 16, 20233 yr Author For those that were interested I finally figured it out. Using ProcMon I was able to catch the SteamWebHelper.exe running exactly at the same time as the pauses. Unfortunately there's no way to disable it. Jack Sawyer

Well, maybe the MS Store version would have been the better choice then, no? Cant you shut down STEAM once MSFS is up and running? February 16, 20233 yr Glad you found the culprit! Hope that moving to MS Store version of MSFS fixes the issue, Jack.

Can I disable Steamwebhelper? On Windows, right-click your Steam shortcut, open Properties, then edit the Target line after \Steam.exe" with the line "-no-browser" (Note, you may need -console too). I thought you ruled out Steam earlier in this thread? Well, anyway, I'm glad you found the cause. I told you ProcMon was the tool to use! So what I did was uninstalled Steam and MSFS and scoured all my drives for anything even remotely related to MSFS and Steam and ran CC Cleaner and rebooted and now I'm installing the Store version as I type this, it'll take several hours. It's also going in one central location on one internal SSD too. Thanks. Jack Sawyer
