We Are Pilots

For me the headache is from the overuse of an (intended) emotionally stirring yet generic orchestral soundtrack slowly building in volume and tension while we are shown multiple random clips of disconnected flights in various scenic locations while waiting for some kind of point.  It just seems to be so overdone and formulaic these days.

Other than a demonstration of someone's video editing skills I don't understand the purpose but then again my brain wouldn't let me watch the entire thing.  I'm sure it was a wonderful show.

Agree 100 percent.

Appreciate the effort, but other than admiring the great editing skills...what am I supposed to get out of this?

I didn't realize there was a third party F-16!

DC designs.  A mid-range product.  Alright for a blast, but don't expect the systems to be 100% accurate or like DCS, as it is at a considerably lower price point and for a different target audience.

I thought it was obvious.  It is just a piece of creativity, or art if you like, in appreciation of MSFS.  So you get out of it whatever you want.
Of all people, I thought you would like it, as you always sing the praises of MSFS so much, and this video shows it off so well, but If you don't like it you have the freedom to just skip over it.

Hmmmm, a different target audience ? How much different ? You mean the vroomvroom, flying inverted 747 under bridges , Xbox Dark Souls players who help flight simulation to make money but one day will be on the left seat of the future airliners because they would have seen the light ?

Well, I was trying to be kind with my comments.    As it is a Friday, I am trying not to hurt people's feelings for the weekend.  ...But yes - I get your drift!

Surely a nice video, but videos like this give me headache ... why can't they stay on a scene for a bit longer?

The video looks like a showreel to me. I like that kind of editing. 🙂

The video is more like "We are planes".

Don’t push me, there is another thread for which I have a poor joke ready but I try my best to curb the small devil on my left shoulder

Definitely a well done vid and a showcase for MSFS. I was intrigued with the final shot of a SpaceX launcher and the Wright Bros kite. Sort of a metaphor of where we have come from and where we are going which was clearly the intention of that shot but I wonder what MS/Asobo are indeed thinking about in the 10 year project regarding space? Fancy a trip to Jezero Crater on Mars where you get the opportunity to fly 'Ingenuity', the tiny helicopter on Mars? Ingenuity has a bit of the Wright Bros wing fabric attached to it so there certainly is a connection.

Cheers

It just seems to be so overdone and formulaic these days.

It's similar to the word 'awesome' that has lost its meaning due to overuse..

Although there are many worse examples of ill-chosen combo's of images and music to be found, especially in product announcement teasers,

Maybe it has something to do with the soundbanks that companies like Native Instruments offer with orchestral bombastic percussion. Its readyness to be used with garanteed effect.

Although the music in itself in this example is not bad i think, the trend is indeed to always go for this style which annoys the hell out of me. It is hard to find something 'original' these days.

It doesn't surprise me how some people can turn this into a negative and overly analytical thread over something that is supposed to be simple, uplifting and, harmless.
It isn't even an 'Avsim' thing (as some people say), it is just a people thing these days.

Some people just like whinging and raining on someone else's parade for the hell of it, when the funny thing is, they haven't produced anything like this themselves and probably couldn't.  I used to think 'what is their problem?', but these days I can't be bothered to be honest - it's just people.
