Plenty of new blood - FbW, WT, Fenix, etc. - has entered the arena, so I think gaming wise we are in good hands. There's a lot of nostalgia at play in this thread for sure! While it's difficult to truly compare older developers' products to contemporary ones due to advances in tech, this is how I see it: AIG and FSLTL are more capable / better versions of World of AI and AI Aardvark, etc. (We now have more detailed AI sounds, takeoff and landing configs depicted, AI injector tools, all-in-one installers) FBW and WT are more capable / better versions of Project Opensky, MelJet and Project Airbus, etc. (EFBs, proper systems architectures, better sound packages, more detail) Fenix has produced a more advanced airliner compared to DreamFleet. (And say it quietly, may surpass the quality of the Level-D 767, once all variants and the new engine modelling are released). While sentimentality is a strong force and there were some fantastic payware and freeware products, Flight Simming has moved on and is well-represented right now. February 15, 20233 yr Add me to the list of RealAir turbine Duke admirers - I still fly it in P3D. If only FSW would release the turbine version of the C414 (the Conquest) for MSFS2020 - that would be a suitable alternative to the turbine Duke. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

If you use the GTN 750Xi for navigation, the G3X will give you an accurate PFD depiction. Try it! I will. Thank you very much! Cheers, Andre

I am missing a 727 for MSFS and thought, "what happend to Lou Betti and Paul Golding". No hits when searching for Lou Betti, but PG brought me here 😄 My first add on, was the 737-400 - but later I was flying the lovely 727, it was a masterpiece. I also remember the ATR72, I think you were the creater of that too? Anyway, glad to see you are still around.

March 2, 20233 yr Author Such a fantastic stroll down memory lane Gents, cheers! I completely forgot about many of the aircraft you guys mentioned, especially the awesome Digital Aviation PA-31T Cheyenne, that aircraft was far beyond it's time in terms of systems complexity, lighting and other features. Another one that was mentioned was the Diamond DA20-100 Katana 4X by Marcel Felde. It was the first time, long before A2A developed their amazing aircraft, that I felt true "ownership" of an aircraft in FSX, taking care of the airplane was just as fun as flying her. Hard to believe it's been almost 10 years since I made this video of the Katana 4X in FSX. Andrew

Digital aviation's DO27 was to my knowledge the first one whose instrument panel would shake and rattle depending on the engine rpm. Also engine fouling, circuit breakers popping, engine fire, oil leaks...

I have to say for FS2004, this UPS I painted looks pretty good for its day. 😉 And of course...the AA that I converted Ed's stunning metal textures from the POSKY 767, to the LDS 767. Still my highest downloaded livery of all time with over 17,000 downloads here at Avsim alone (she was reuploaded to several other sites back in the day...last time I cared to count she was over 30,000 downloads at the combined sites I could find) LevelD 767 was TOP NOTCH at this time.. And still today for me one of the best 767 simulation's we ever had since.. cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.
