March 2, 20233 yr I miss the freeware Long Island Classics Decathlon. I had both theirs and the RealAir, but you can't beat free. I loved Warbirdsim's Mustangs too. Tapping fingers while waiting for the A2A Comanche... Edited March 2, 20233 yr by Bones62

I completely forgot about many of the aircraft you guys mentioned, especially the awesome Digital Aviation PA-31T Cheyenne, that aircraft was far beyond it's time in terms of systems complexity, lighting and other features. Another one that was mentioned was the Diamond DA20-100 Katana 4X by Marcel Felde. It was the first time, long before A2A developed their amazing aircraft, that I felt true "ownership" of an aircraft in FSX, taking care of the airplane was just as fun as flying her. I agree. I flew that Piper Cheyenne like I was earning a check from it for a long time. I was probably one of the few who actually learned and enjoyed the Trimble GPS. Others hated how counterintuitive it was, but once you learned how to program your route and make changes in flight, it was pretty easy. I loved it 🤷♂️ - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
March 2, 20233 yr This will really test your memories. I always had a soft spot in my heart for the MAAM B-25. It was so noisy and immersive. Oh the good old days.
March 2, 20233 yr Definitely Hi-Fi to sort out the mess that is live weather. Whist they are still around, I would also like to see Rex back as good as they used to be. I loved there various texture addons and cloud packages, would love to see those in the sim to be able to replace the mess of clouds we’ve been subjected to since SU5 downgraded graphics all across the sim, most noticeably for me with the clouds. And FSLabs of course. Would be great to have a truly awesome A320. The Fenix and FBW are great, but both have just a few too many problems for me at the moment to really enjoy flying them.
March 3, 20233 yr Let's see who can name my favorite aircraft and scenery from back in the day. Also, guess the FPS I was getting 😆

March 3, 20233 yr MAAM DC3 - also, before their payware DC3 they had their freeware version with only 2d cockpit. Something Iike 20 Mb! Took me ages to download! Lago sceneries - like Emma field and Orca that had chirping birds... Edited March 3, 20233 yr by Bartul
March 3, 20233 yr @Jocko Flocko, you beat me to posting the same. I had been thinking about RealAir as I flew ALL their aircraft almost exclusively, but I am disappointed that no one has mentioned the SF260 Marchetti. I flew that one and the Citabria, Decathlon and Scout and then on to the two versions of the Duke and the wonderful Legacy. All are greatly missed! I'm frankly surprised that given their popularity, no MSFS developer has created any of those airplanes yet. It would be a no-brainer as a lot of us would likely buy them mostly based on the longing for the experience (given they are decent). Anyway, thanks for the memory-lane post, it brought on a smile and dare I say almost a tear 🙂.
March 3, 20233 yr Does anyone remember the Dornier DO-27 from Digital Aviation? That bird was one of the first complex aircraft that I used back in the FSX days. All the aircraft systems were simulated, and further complicating for an English speaker is that all of the controls in the cockpit were labeled in German. Still, the sense of accomplishment just getting that bird started was so fun. Then, getting it into the air, even more fun. It had so many cool features that were not seen on other sim aircraft at that time. So much nostalgia with that little aircraft for me.
