Fenix A320

Featured Replies

This is directed to anyone who has the Fenix A320:

I've only had the airplane for a month, and I'm noticing that it's very temperamental. Has anyone else experienced perf data spontaneously dropping before takeoff? In the same occurrence, I also noticed that my flight plan was not registering on the navigation display.

Is this a known glitch? Or perhaps there was something I did that caused this?

Any ideas?

Note: I apologize in advance if this topic was not put in the right category.

Cheers!

Is MSFS 2020 your Sim that you fly this aircraft in?

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

What do you mean by "perf data dropping before takeoff"? And in general, do you know how to operate an A320?
To answer your question, no, the Fenix does not do anything unexpected for me.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

maybe watch some tutorials on youtube, they'll help you setting up the aircraft

If you change runway in the MCDU, the perf data gets cleared by design.

Actually, I do know how to fly the A320 in the sim. My question was exactly what I said, based on an occurrence I had never encountered. If you need clarification, then JUST SAY THAT!! Or, keep it moving. There is no need to go completely out of your way to be rude about it. 🙄

I've watched and read a whole lot, but there's nothing specifically addressing this. Thanks anyway.

Thank you, so much, for your kind, non-rude, constructive reply. This makes perfect sense because this is exactly what I did: I changed runways because ATIS had something different than my flight plan. I was suspicious that this may be the culprit but didn't put much thought there because I have done this on other planes (Toliss, Flight Factor, etc) without this issue. Again, thank you.

Have a wonderful day, sir!

As I understand it, having the v speeds removed due to a runway change would be a real life feature of the A320 to help prevent taking off with inaccurate perf data for the new runway.  The FS Labs A320 did it as well I recall.

Absolutely. But there is also an alarm that chirps to let you know to check takeoff data because it has changed due to a change of runway. I corrected the information, and the system took it, but then the V-speeds and data suddenly disappeared when I was lining up and waiting for takeoff roll.

I do not believe there is an alarm that chirps, or if there is, that is a function of a newer software standard afaik.
