I never do. I use Avliasoft to look at both Sids and Stars for the runway I am using, to see which fits better. It only takes a second to do that. I guess you could include the Sid and Star in the flight plan, but I have never done that.

Not so much about SID/STAR, but does Aivlasoft accept flight plan data from MSFS or Simbrief?

It has been so long since I set Avliasoft up, I can't remember whether I load the flight plans into it from the Simbrief downloader or from MSFS. I do all my flight plans from Simbrief, and they are always automatically loaded into Avlliasoft.  Its a free 30 day demo, why not try it yourself?

I installed it yesterday but no plan auto-loaded into it from SB, but I found the tab that deals with this import.  It says the route in SB was invalid due to a bad name of one of the SID waypoints or something like that.  I have to make sure all are on the same AIRAC which I didn't do.  Thanks

Yes, you have to update the server in Avliasoft to the same database you have on simbrief and MSFS.

With Navigraph's two data apps I don't see Aivlasoft as an app to be updated.  Does Aivla get its dbase from MSFS perhaps?

It may, I can't remember it has been a couple of years since I set it up, and I am not at home now. I will look this afternoon and post. If you don't see Avliasoft in the Simbrief downloader, than it must be getting it from the MSFS Fight plan  folder. Load a flight plan into MSFS, got to the EFB, flight plan page, and you should see it there. Are you using the Simbrief Downloader????

AivlaSoft can import your current plan from Simbrief. You click FPL on the left side of the app, then create flight plan, make sure the 'internet' tab is highlighted, click the simbrief tab below that and enter your simbrief ID and hit the start button. The click next to preview everything and then Finish. Done!

Thanks for that, I did find it and after verifying the dbase in Aivlasoft was updated w/ the current AIRAC, as is MSFS, it gave me this routing error.  It doesn't like UPLUD, but that fix is present in both Simbrief's generated route, and MSFS's generated route (because I've made sure the MSFS FP uses the same SID/STAR Simbrief used.  What should I do with this?

I just put UPLUD in simbrief, and it doesn't recognize that waypoint.

STAR or fix "UPLUD" not found.
Route distance: 379 nm (+ 2.4%).

It's part of a STAR and shows up in Simbrief's route after creating it.

I'm seeing an UPLUD in New Zealand in ForeFlight.

As I mentioned earlier - Aivlasoft has it's own database and this DB you have to generate. For this process, the navdata from MSFS are used.

To avoid any differences in navdata MSFS/Simbrief/Aivlasoft you have in theorie to generate a new DB for Aivlasoft as soon as navigraph publish a new cycle too.

Best regards, Detlef

I did generate the dbase for Aivlasoft but will double check again tomorrow thank you Detlef.  I just learned LNM does SimBrief flight plan imports so pretty tempting to just stick with it as it pretty much does get the job done.  But to be fair I haven't give Aivlasoft a fair trial yet but have another 27days to see what it really adds.

Yeah. Seems like a lot for me. Navigraph/Simbrief subscription includes in-sim charts and they work really well for me.

Hi guys,

Interesting discussion here, thanks for that.

I'm just getting into proper flight planning and charts so my question might be a bit novice..

Why wouldn't I need paid charts app/software for flying in the US only? I read a couple of times here that only outside the USA I would definitely need navigraph or aivlasoft.

Thanks again!
