the disappointing aspect of investing in TTS voice is that there is only one addon that makes "optimum" use of them

but then again if you comprise, one can have the same PNF if you use MCE (but no AI comms) ... sorry i digress again, it's only possible in P3D

for now, cheers

Yeah, but I am not going back to P3D. Probably ever. Never used these voice options though. How were these voices?

I would be kind of disappointed in myself if these sound better than the ones I paid for.

They are worth it though. I use the for text-to-speech as well. Pilot2ATC only allows a certain amount of voices but overall I am happy and it provides enough difference in between the voices that I really don't pay attention to those differences. I am more focused on the ATC and flying aspect, not so much the voices.

Not sure if the guy that does meh addons on flightsim.to should post warnings about other products. But hey, it´s a free world.

I’ve got most of the Cereproc voices and quite a few Ivona, and have used them while simming for hundreds of hours.

Cereproc are much more natural, though Ivona compatibility is a little better (less glitches).

All computer-based TTS options are not up to the standard of web-based AI voices. Online TTS is great these days, but it won’t help with the standard program we’re talking about here.

Btw, someone here suggested Amazon Poly as an online TTS option a few months back. Thanks mate - I tried it, and it was really good - but then I got hacked and someone ran up over $2000 of server time on my account! That was an even more expensive thread to read than the ones about the RTX 4090. 😉

If I remember correctly that was robot voices on steroids. 😉

I don't use the default ATC in MSFS, I use PF3, Every once in awhile I see a Youtube video where they are using default ATC, and it sounds like Mickey Mouse under water. It's horrible.

takes a few flights to get it down, and then it is simple as can be.

Yeah, you're right, but it was very efficient and intuitive so I always forgave it for sounding like a robot on steroids!
