March 24, 20233 yr Really looking forward to this. One of the real keys to this area wil be water masking to uncover all the atolls and fringing reefs, etc. That's probably the main unique feature of this region, so hopefully they spend a bit of time uncovering them - they didn't seem to feature at all in the video.
March 25, 20233 yr This is great news. Thanks for the post. Richard Chafey i7-8700K @4.8GHz - 32Gb @3200 - ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero - EVGA RTX3090 - 3840x2160 Res - KBSim Gunfighter - Thrustmaster Warthog dual throttles - Crosswind V3 pedals MSFS 2020, DCS
March 25, 20233 yr "In terms of area this will be one of the largest updates flightsim ever had". I seem to recall Jorg on the last Q&A saying Oceana (not counting the ocean or the polar region) will be the smallest update in terms of area by far. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

March 25, 20233 yr I really do hope that the newest Bing data has no clouds in the PNG area. The scenery suffers a lot from cloud patches.
March 25, 20233 yr Will be interesting see what photogrammetry appears. Theres virtually none (maybe actually none) in this area already and Jorg was talking about weather issues in Hawaii slowing photogrammetry flights down. Hopefully there’s a lot in Hawaii, especially the big population centres like Honolulu.

Yes, I think you're right, and airports, and probably photorealistic cities. Japan was 1st and (I hate to say) only got a very small facelift. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
