I just flew once there (IRL) and entered right traffic 17 at the field elevation + 1'000 ft and... next time I'll take +1'500ft 😉 And I even not thou "Stopped before the parking" ? Runway is 3'500ft, it should be way enough for the WB-SIM 152, no ? I learnt to fly real aircraft at Denham (EGLD) and their main runway is 700m approx so no issues with L05. I landed a little "long" due to my steep approach angle. I'll be braver the next time - I've got it paused on my MS2024 PC while I work from home 🙂 Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. Internet: 1 Gig Fibre. January 22, 20251 yr Sounds like a great little airfield - is it in MS2024? Maybe you've made a scenery for it? I prefer grass runways now. The main runway at Denham is tarmac and is not that forgiving on landing. I find grass offers a much more gentle arrival😉 I fly from Popham now which is a great little grass airfield in South West England. Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. January 22, 20251 yr Oooops. I think I broke the engine trying to climb over the mountains near L05 (note the black oily smoke trailing behind me..). Maybe I'll try again in a more suitable airframe🫢 PS: I think someone at Asobo has a tree fetish. They're bloody everywhere! LFPZ - St-Cyr-L'Ecole has an old freeware which is outdated now (https://flightsim.to/file/5438/lfpz-lfpx), a payware from FranceVFR in a pack of all Paris area airfields (https://www.francevfr.com/product_aptidfmsfs.php). On my side, I just add what was able to add via the MSFS World Hub (basic stuff like taxiway, windsock, signs, some road...) now including in all stocked MSFS version, and finally an only-for-ultra-fans red/white check landmark to visualize the only one-side downwind (https://flightsim.to/file/22638/red-and-white-check-landmark-for-saint-cyr-l-ecole-lfpz). December 31, 2025Dec 31 Author Here’s a major update for Kern Valley Airport (L05)! This release focuses on alignment with SU16 and MSFS2024, as well as a host of visual and functional improvements. Whether you’re flying in MSFS2020 or MSFS2024, this update ensures the best possible experience. What’s New in This Update? The ZIP now includes two folders: vbcorp-airport-l05-kern-valley (for both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024) zzz-vbcorp-airport-l05-kern-valley (MSFS2024 only – keep the name as-is for proper loading order). MSFS2024 & SU16 Alignment: Repositioned all objects, ground textures, and taxiway lines to match the latest Bing Maps data in both simulators. Enhanced Runway Texture: Smoother, more realistic runway surfaces in MSFS2024. Improved Terraforming: More accurate elevation and ground contours. Static Aircraft Overhaul: Removed outdated SimObjects and added new static aircraft for a livelier airport. Missing Objects Restored: All buildings and objects are now present in MSFS2024. New Taxiway Signage: Added a “Taxiway ->” sign based on recent real-world footage. Weathered Asphalt Patches: Added realistic wear-and-tear details in key areas. Fuel Prices: Already up-to-date—no changes needed! December 31, 2025Dec 31 One of my favourites. Thanks Vincent! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
