During the stream, the panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial discussed an upcoming update to Expert Series I: ATR 42-600 / 72-600 and revealed City Update 02 and Local Legend 09. Jorg also went into a deep dive exploration explaining what goes into creating a new World Update. Other topics covered by the panel included an update on the Marketplace intake process and a very quick tease for World Update 14. Additionally, Matt Nischan from Working Title joined the panel to give a preview of the upcoming Aircraft & Avionics Update 02 (AAU_02) which is currently targeted for a June 2023 release. Matt went into detail describing features of the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental and Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner which will be improved with AAU2. The livestream also contained three Q&A sessions where the panel answered questions from viewers in Twitch chat. If you missed seeing the Developer Livestream as it happened, you can watch the VOD on YouTube here. Public beta testing for Aircraft & Avionics Update 02 (AAU_02) will begin soon. If you joined the Microsoft Flight Simulator Beta during a previous update preview and did not manually leave the Beta, you will automatically receive this new preview update once it is available. If you are not enrolled but would like to help test this upcoming release, we will provide instructions on how to join when the AAU_02 beta begins. – MSFS Team FEEDBACK SNAPSHOT Click here for the web-friendly version of the Feedback Snapshot. COMMUNITY FLY-IN At the Battle of Pueblo on May 5, 1862, Mexican forces successfully defended the hilltop forts of Loreto and Guadalupe against the attacking French army during the Second French Intervention in Mexico. The anniversary of this battle is recognized annually in Pueblo, and the date, Cinco de Mayo, has also become a celebration of Mexican heritage in the United States and other countries. For this week’s Community Fly-In, we will be touring parts of Mexico: departing from Pueblo, flying over the capital of Mexico City, then making our way westbound towards Guadalajara/Zapopan for a full stop landing. Event details are available here. All are welcome to participate! COMMUNITY VIDEO Here on the MSFS Team, we love seeing all the different creative ways content creators use Microsoft Flight Simulator in their videos. Some are real-world pilots who create tutorial videos explaining how to fly more realistically, others post reviews of new Marketplace releases, and others still create masterful cinematic displays showcasing the beauty of flight. Today’s community video is in the latter category. From YouTuber Cpt. WhiteKnight, please enjoy “We Are Pilots”! It is a possibility, as it was withdrawn from sale a few weeks ago by Aerosoft, and it has been talked about in these forums. If it happens, I am glad people will get it for free, but it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that I paid more than double what it cost me for the much better recent ATR, for a product that was substandard on release, and I had to spend extra to buy decent sounds for. The very useful freeware modifications were also made unusable due to 'copyright' reasons, so I hope if MS buy it for the sim, these mods will become useful again and not under the threat of legal action. As MS seem fine to allow that on other aircraft in the sim, and seem to welcome it if anything. I also bought 'Aerosoft Antarctica Vol. 1 - British Rothera and Beyond' to go with the Twin Otter. A complete waste of money - unrealistic scenery, terrible LOD popping, and a complete stutter fest - I uninstalled it. I should have known better! It has got to the stage where MS / Asobo items through the marketplace are excellent value if you are interested in them. This, on top of all of the free stuff they keep giving us (including things such as the AAU updates) must make MSFS the best value sim ever, and I really appreciate them for that. I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. May 5, 20233 yr As they mention a city update for France (which was WU 4) - anyone knows if the city updates correspond with WUs, meaning the next CU would be in the area of WU 5 (Nordics)? Thx CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D not OC, MB: MSI Tomahawk B450, RAM: 32GB DDR 4 3600, GPU: Geforce 5070 Ti not OC, 2TB SDD, Res: 4K
May 5, 20233 yr I have been experiencing CTD on practically every flight since Christmas. However, the last update has the sim not starting. In fact it hung up near the end of completing the install of it. I'm unable to get by this or have the install complete the install process.

I don't think so. The order of releases mostly depends on the availability of the data. So even if they tried to make CUs correspond the WUs, the data acquisition may get delayed. This can be due to bad weather, in case they're taking aerial photography for photogrammetry, or identifying the partner for getting the mesh data, in case of WUs. You should take a look at the latest dev Q&A, there's a section where they explain some of the details of what goes into the process of making new WUs and CUs. May 6, 20233 yr Since when is "Implement weather and terrain API for developers" under investigation? I have the feeling that it is in this status since forever, can't be that hard to investigate this and move to implementation... I feel like this would give a huge improvement to all 3rd party addons, it's a pity that it's not being properly prioritized

The question doesn’t seem to be whether it‘s possible but rather whether they want it. To me it sounds like they‘ve somewhat warmed up to the idea. i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2
