What Does MSFS Do Best?

the standard phrase is: "nothing wrong with criticism ...." but as soon as you do criticise something their x-periment world collapses.

The problem with criticism is it tends to be subjective rather than objective. If one sim had something another sim didn’t and it was considered important then pointing that out would be legitimate as it was objective.

Comparing something in both sims and saying you prefer A over B is perfectly acceptable. It’s an opinion to which we’re all entitled. It has to be done in a respectful way of course. Just slagging off something without giving reasonable reasons is not acceptable and would inevitably instigate a post being reported.

All in all a tricky situation and we staff try to judge as fairly as we can. 😁

My question would be not only about default avionics but also which payware addon in any other sim has better Garmin systems than MSFS default?

I think somebody here in Avsim mentioned there was no payware G3000 that is better than the Working Title G3000. I wish I remembered which thread it was and the exact link to the comment, but the comment was several weeks ago.

For the G1000 and G5000, I would be curious to know if there is a better payware version out there than the Working Title G1000 & G5000. Does anybody know?

definitely not in the x-plane forum. I got a free 2 day vacation from their forum, paid for by avsim, for doing exactly that. supported my findings with detailed screenshots, not just opinion. that's why I have deliberately extended my vacation from their forum open ended.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

What does it do best? Make fans of the other sims nervous.

You have to consider the attitude of XP users and now they took your post. If it was to show MSFS did something better than XP ask yourself what benefit would that be to dedicated XP users.

Where you invited by an XP user to post the images or was it your decision. I hope you can see where I’m going with this. It could be seen as inflammatory.

Two days? Consider yourself lucky. Around 10-12 years ago I got a week holiday for just asking the whereabouts of a member who was persona non grata. I pleaded innocence but the late Jim wasn’t interested.

any critique there is seen as "inflammatory" or more creatively, as "trolling", no constructive debate possible, therefore I decided to not waste any more time there. it seems the MSFS crowd here is more relaxed, I wonder why.

Same here and the toxic party there who was clearly acting by all definitions as a "troll" when I was summarily given a holiday when I dared suggest his behavior was troll-like.  How dare you call someone a troll on their own forum!!  Yep, "their" forum.  They have had a few moderators hoodwinked at times.

is that why Carenado has not released a single x-plane version ever again since August 2020?

not the simulators fault. your CPU and GPU are several generations behind. at over 100 fps (RTX 4090 + 7800X3D) performance is excellent.

Yes and no. I am talking about flying at 30,000ft and it randomly stutters for several minutes and goes back to normal.

Carenado have been cooperating with Microsoft and Asobo since the inception of this sim. They created several of the stock planes that come with it and  had the first plane for sale in the market place at launch. This has given them an inside track on plane creation as far as MSFS is concerned.

Their planes are also exclusive to the market place and they also make planes for Microsoft to sell in the market place. This also means Carenado’s planes can’t be pirated.

All these are also available on Xbox. I suspect they’re also enjoying a deal with Microsoft for this exclusivity; Microsoft’s cut of market place sales is around thirty per cent.

I rather think Microsoft’s cut of Carenado sales is slightly less than this.

When it comes to 3rd party sales in MSFS, we’ve heard a lot about “some glasses were raised” or PMDG’s sales of the DC6 outstripping everything that went before.

We don’t hear anything from Carenado. Their planes are visually stunning, keenly priced and generally frame rate friendly. They’ve also raised their game when it comes to bug fixes.

I think Carenado are the really big winners in MSFS so far.
In such circumstances making planes for XP would be the last thing on their minds whilst they’ve still got a large back catalogue of planes to recreate in MSFS.

I would of used the word irritated but some folks "not saying you" of this forum can be rather antagonizing at times.
