FSHUD 1.3.103

Featured Replies

Hm, maybe it's a case of instant karma because of the bad things I just said about FSHud but I just did a flight that went COMPLETELY wrong. For starters I was told to contact a certain frequency but ATC kept silent... I opened the UI and noticed I needed to contact a completely different station. Odd. And after that ATC didn't assign the STAR nor the approach and in fact it never talked to me again.... while the arrows in the interface showed I was on the right path.

Seems FSHud was angry at me and refused to talk. I usually am quite happy with FSHud but this was the worst flight ever.

I could have ended the flight in FSHud and restart it from the current position but really... that shouldn't be necessary.

I am very happy I am on the BeyondATC beta team... 😉Can't wait to give it a try.

Yeah that dev actually blocked me from my FSHUD account so I couldn't log in and couldn't use FSHUD anymore. That's absolutely illegal and I've never seen anything like this before. Luckily I was able to get a refund from FlightOne.
I can't hide feeling a bit of schadensfreude hearing FSHUD is still a mess.

This. I offered consultation, none of which was taken into account, based on nearly 30 years of experience. The B-ATC devs have been much more positive.

Same here. Specially during taxi you have to hit the exact spots of the assigned taxiing path or you will lose connection and you never know how long it takes for ATC to start talking again. Sometimes I miss a taxi waypoint only by a few meters and still lose contact. (BTW The FSHud interface shows the direction and distance to the next taxi waypoint but it seldom works out for me. The system sucks.)

In flight things usually are fine for me. Problems start again with the vectoring towards the IAF. Wat too many vectors are given and often they are odd and even contradicting. I ALWAYS completely ignore vectoring.

Unlike FSHud a lot but it really needs to improve fast in order to stay ahead of BeyondATC. Of course B-ATC won't be released anytime soon but once it will FSHud better be darned good... As it is now the ONLY advantage FSHud seems to have over B-ATC is that it actually controls traffic.

BTW I stopped posting on the FSHud forum because of the often bad attitude of the developer. Inpolite, aggressive, moaning, accusing... The dev of B-ATC is the complete opposite. Luckily. Recently FSHud hired another guy to also offer support on the forum and he is more polite but sometimes lets go of his guard and hides behind quite personal excuses (like bad things happening in his life... all kinds of things you shouldn't post on a forum as an official representative...). Odd couple...

I think when Beyond ATC is released, that will be the death  of FShud. It has too many problems.

Yes of course, since SU10 already. SU10 brought a Navdata API, which e.g. GSX uses to make GSX work on marketplace encrypted airports.

Really? I wasn't aware of that. I stand corrected. 🙂

the only thing that make fshud attractive is that control ai traffic in the other areas is  behind others ATC addons. plus the devs are rude have one of the worst support in seen in Flight simulator

Actually... I recently said the only advantage FSHud offers is its traffic control but er... just finished a flight in southern France and there were 14 AI planes at most in the sim and FSHud talked only ONCE to one of them... Might as well fly without traffic! I do think I will prefer everything B-ATC offers even though it doesn't control the traffic. I will have to see how much I like the beta but as it seems now B-ATC will beat FSHud on EVERY possible level.

I use FSLTL, and if you dial the traffic down just a bit. I have almost zero problems with conflicting traffic, and I fly out of major airports every day. I am already on my second flight today. I don't need my ATC program trying to manage AI traffic, when FSLTL seems to do a pretty good job. .

Can you cut and paste your settings? I likely have mine set too high because I do end up with planes coming right at me.

What are you using for ATC? I use PF3 which looks at the active runway, and assigns that for landings and takeoffs. I just dial the traffic, so that it looks realistic. Don't need 15 aircraft on final.

That's probably a case of you and MSFS having different active runways.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Ah, that's it. I forgot you use PF3.

Yeah, very likely.

FWIW, I have encountered plenty of situations in which FSHud didn't really control traffic, or so it seemed. Like ending up face to face with another aircraft without FSHud telling any of 'us' to stop, AI cutting me off or ATC telling me to stop for no apparent reason.

To be fair, 1.3 is a beta version, so some of the complaints are expected.

Let's face it, there are programs that have as their total focus, on controlling AI traffic like the FSLTL injector for instance. Then we have other programs  that just control ATC . To have one piece of software that does a good job at both, is probably not going to happen.

FSLTL controls traffic? Huh?

Does a good job on my setup, no spinning planes, no blocking the runway after landing, etc, etc. Wasn't that way using default MSFS live traffic.
