Is this still turbomax or did I read somebody elses post inadvertently?  This post is second to none! I can't believe this is turbomax, I'm not joking! Honestly, this from someone who is spoilt by the best XP posters!

One can only hope that even miracles can happen. 😁

Hi MrSparks,

can I use instructor station also to change my aircraft position on the fly, so to speak, like increase altitude etc? I wanted to test various cloud environments at different altitudes and to get up there to 14.000 ft. just takes too long in the C172. in FSX etc. you can slew the airplane left and right, up and down in flight with just 2 key presses. or is there an easier way, and instructor station not required?

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

Map (m) or IOS (i)

just click on your aircraft icon and you'll get a subwindow with speed/pitch/altitude/direction, you can also drag it around clicking and holding on the aircraft icon (yellow 744 in this)

I am always only yoking around here 😊. honor where honor is due, your honour. this is the x-plane I have been waiting for, just hoping I won't run or fly into any other surprises. I was inspired by Murmur's night screenshot, the best 'good night' scene I have seen so far in xp12: no white clouds and no black Frankenclouds from dusk till dawn. this is how I expected the world to look at night. version 12.06b1 finally made x-plane great again.

Use the map to quickly change position in all axes. You need to click on the icon representing your aircraft and then set up altitude, direction, coordinates as you wish

sorry, no apples in this household.

anyway, I can't believe it: just had the best xplane flight in centuries, St.Elmos fire around my airplane contours gone, frankenclouds at 6:00 p.m. gone, anti aliasing issues? gone. is this still x-plane or did I run another simulator inadvertently? had a fantastic flight in the default C172 at 7:30 p.m. with default real world weather from Marthas Vineyard in light rain to Nantucket at 13.500 ft in VR. second to none! I can't believe this is x-plane, I am not yoking. honestly. and this from someone who is spoilt by the best scenery VFR simulator with the best avionics package. 😊

I'd be really curious how you got rid of AA issue. Do you have any Nvidia post processing enabled?

Setup: RX6800 | 5800X3D + B450 | 32GB 3200MHz | X-Plane 12

proper overcast weather, a first in xplane!! XP12 becoming my favorite sim again 👍

but what is this? flying nicely along Nantucket and thinking to myself what a wonderful xplane world this could be only to find myself in a pitch black simulator after I switched several times between cockpit and external view modes while in VR. initially it got darker and darker in the cockpit and then completely black, but only in cockpit view (I switched back and forth using the W and Shift 4 key). the same now in 2D-non VR mode. whats that?

sounds like the hypoxia simulation kicking in. (can be disabled in general settings iirc)

Sounds like hypoxia. Were you above 10000?

yes, 13.500 feet. never had this effect at 13.500 in a real C172 😀

and it gets worse: now I get these green manipulator visualizations without me ever having activated them, and they stay on even after toggling them on/off.☹️

ok, found it: clickable regions kicked in from another settings area, don't know why but reset it and it's working again. thanks to all for helping an enemy (MSFS pilot). 😀

@turbomax: as we meanwhile found out (no surprise for me) it is definitely hypoxia. You could have known it. Why? That's why. And you even SHOULD have known it 😛, as you were lurking around in this subforum at that day.

Now - would you do us all a big favour 😆 and go the "other" forum and wail that these nice colors, hypoxia and a lot more* is missing in that "other" sim?

* Here are some hints for starters 🤪

before that, he needs to take the F14 for a max speed run round the mach loop, without ripping its wings off, hitting the side of a mountain, or climbing above 400 feet AGL.

Then do it again in the spitfire

In VR.

XP is a bit strict in that regard. Try a little oxygen if you wish to take a C172 to space: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/54217-portable-oxygen-for-ga-aircrafts-lua-script/

he doesn't care for airliners, let alone fighter jets. I was not aware of that hypoxia effect in x-plane as I had never been that high up in the x-plane C172 and it didn't occur to me as I did not experience that effect when flying in real life at 14.000 ft in an unpressurized Cessna, it was a topic during flight training though

thanks for your friendly advice. But sorry to disappoint you. I frequent all forums whose simulator I fly. and I had them all. still have. 😀
