Never had a problem with the nVidia installer honestly... I just install the driver without Geforce Experience and I end up with only two instances of nVidia container running at 0% CPU. DDU and the light versions you can download on 3rd party sites are not supported by nVidia. I am not saying that I don't trust them and are not legit, just that in my opinion they are unnecessary. People have issues because don't do things properly, tinker with nVInspector flags, delete and replace files and DLL, etc. then they have to run DDU in safe mode to clean everything 🙂 The vast majority of users don't even know of the existence of these tools and have no problems at all... imagine millions of users flooding the nVidia forums with installation issues, otherwise. So then referring back to my first question you don't think Geforce experience itself has any issues with installing video drivers correctly? i9-13900K @ 5.8Ghz / Asus TUF 4090 OC / 32 GB DDR 5 / Corsair 1000W PS / Pimax Crystal / 2 SATA SSD / 2TB M2 SSD/ DOF Reality H3 motion platform/ Win 11

DDU does a very good job uninstalling the NV drivers. But GFE also does a good job if you choose a Clean install ( most of the time I do not check this ). Only if you have issues after updating then DDU is the app to uninstall the driver safely. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

I thought Nvidia was an issue for a bit. It wasn't. I was following stupid advice on settings in the NVCP. I call it snake oil. I don't know what DDU is/does so I cannot comment on it. This recent drivers have caused no issues for me in MSFS, Starfield, Elite Dangerous, American Truck Sim, Dirt Rally, Project Cars 2 etc Edited September 14, 20232 yr by Sonosusto 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.

I don't know, but probably not as long you don't revert back to an older driver. September 14, 20232 yr This recent driver caused major issue to me. The warning screen from MSFS that the video card could not work popped up and MSFS closed down. This was an issue a couple months ago with another Nvidia driver update. So I'm off to revert back to an N driver which works. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. The only time I change drivers, is if the one I am using is causing problems. The driver I am using now is about 2 years old and works great.
September 16, 20232 yr I think if you are going to use the newest GPU's then keeping up to date on drivers is important. DDU is a great tool, but I only seem to do that about once a year or if having issues. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
