I assume you're suggesting that Gameforce Experience is not installing Nvidia drivers properly?

No, I refer to all the Nvidia install problems I've read about in the last 10 years that have been solved by first running DDU.

Never had a problem with the nVidia installer honestly... I just install the driver without Geforce Experience and I end up with only two instances of nVidia container running at 0% CPU.

DDU and the light versions you can download on 3rd party sites are not supported by nVidia. I am not saying that I don't trust them and are not legit, just that in my opinion they are unnecessary.

People have issues because don't do things properly, tinker with nVInspector flags, delete and replace files and DLL, etc. then they have to run DDU in safe mode to clean everything 🙂 The vast majority of users don't even know of the existence of these tools and have no problems at all... imagine millions of users flooding the nVidia forums with installation issues, otherwise.

So then referring back to my first question you don't think Geforce experience itself has any issues with installing video drivers correctly?

DDU does a very good job uninstalling the NV drivers.

But GFE also does a good job if you choose a Clean install ( most of the time I do not check this ).

Only if you have issues after updating then DDU is the app to uninstall the driver safely.

^ This right here.

I thought Nvidia was an issue for a bit. It wasn't. I was following stupid advice on settings in the NVCP. I call it snake oil. I don't know what DDU is/does so I cannot comment on it.

This recent drivers have caused no issues for me in MSFS, Starfield, Elite Dangerous, American Truck Sim, Dirt Rally, Project Cars 2 etc

I don't know, but probably not as long you don't revert back to an older driver.

This recent driver caused major issue to me. The warning screen from MSFS that the video card could not work popped up and MSFS closed down. This was an issue a couple months ago with another Nvidia driver update. So I'm off to revert back to an N driver which works.

537.13 I loaded back this older version, so far no problems.

The only time I change drivers, is if the one I am using is causing problems. The driver I am using now is about 2 years old and works great.

I think if you are going to use the newest GPU's then keeping up to date on drivers is important.  DDU is a great tool, but I only seem to do that about once a year or if having issues.
