SamScene: USA Modern Cities Vol.1

Featured Replies

Helicopter pilot on Xbox x.

After testing the four cities I found performance not affected at all. Very few bugs to be seen, really only one lod issue and some ground elevations are wrong where the new buildings sit.

The new buildings are great, the textures could be better in spots.

Overall, for 20us, I like it so far.

You all who have it bought it via the Marketplace, didn't you? I am still hesitant to do so.

Kind regards, Michael

Concept reminds me of Aerosofts US Cities for.... I think it was FSX, years and years ago.

EDIT: Anyone who doesn't like the Samscene stuff should take a look at what we settled for in tha' past. 🛬 🙃

This is my first SamScene purchase. If the developer does an update or two this city upgrade will be a 5 out of 5 stars for me.

I can only buy from the marketplace being that I have the Xbox Series X. All my purchases have been easy so far.

I’ve got this and it’s really good. I quite like the cities where there’s a mix of photogrammetry and models. To me it gives a more realistic variation in buildings and surfaces etc.

Like with new york there’s some duplication with rkbridgers bridges but it’s a great little dlc. Vol2 Coming soon apparently with previews in October. but no info on what’s included, despite me trying!

as an aside it seems like many of these photogrammetry cities have also seen improvements in water and the sunken objects etc, I thought I read about it in a Dev update anyway.

His other products are pretty good. Hong Kong really changes the city for the better plus New York and some others are pretty good and often on sale in the marketplace. there’s a fun little Gibraltar dlc with people crossing the runway and some other cool features.

I didn’t see any night pics for the product anywhere so thought I’d provide one here for Boston:

(Sorry about the quality. I’ve got an HDR monitor so took the photos with my phone)

There are a few quick shots in the product vid. Fair to say the night lighting isn't jaw-dropping but as you said, your picture isn't really representative of the quality.

For me it's a non-issue because I rarely fly at night. Mainly in helicopters these days and I just recently bought NY and Toronto, already had Vancouver. I think for anyone who's less than impressed with the photogrammetry, these are a good workaround.  Fair price and minimal - if any - impact on performance.

The new package will be worth it for L.A. alone, where I always get bad visuals with PG enabled. Haven't tried mixing these with PG but other folks seem to be getting good results.

Hefty package... "The download size of this product is 3.06 GB. It uses 6.38 GB when installed."

Now on Contrail as well

I like it. All that remains is to get a quality KMIA.
