Just to be aware that the creator of this vid has a rather low tier computer compared to most of us and as such, those settings might be only valuable for people with comparable setups. So while it is super nice to see the comparison, it might not be exactly translatable to your rig.

What I'd like to know is whether the CPU or GPU is most affected by a certain setting.

Some of it is easy to tell but others I just don't know.

I basically run max everything in 2D haha...but that sometimes introduces a lot of stutters if I'm flying at a heavy scenery or with lots of AI/ cloudy weather etc.

Nice video,
but it says only something about systems containing a 6GB (!) RTX 1060 and i5 8400

Low Tier!!?

13900 8 cores @ 5.5-5.8 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.3 GHz (hyperthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D4 - GSkill Ripjaws 2x 16 Gb 4266 mhz @ 3200 mhz / cas 13 -  Inno3D RTX4090 X3 iCHILL 24 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Thermaltake Level 10 GT case - EKWB Extreme 240 liquid cooling set push/pull - 2x 43” Sony 4K tv's as one wide front view

I don't think so, I'm low tier ( AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 4.2 32 gig ram, Nvidia RTX3060 12 gig, Intel 760 SSD M2 NVMe 512 gig, Crucial MX500 SSD. )   and have higher settings and great results:

Geez, Gerard is NOT the creator of the video, the creator of the video has a i5 8400 with a GTX 1060...

What would have been nice if there was a summery like

Terain Shaddow - Higher setting larg FPS impact

Volumetric clouds - higher setting Large FPS impact

Texture resolution - higher setting No impact

Reflection - Higher setting marginal impact

etc.

Most setting that show a exponential curve as impact (difference getting bigger when increasing further. The LOD setting however showed less impact going beyond 100.

Haha that makes more sense !! That is very low tier in this day and age.

Imho it shows the differences of settings and what his conclusion was.

To see all settings compared is very good.

Yes, but still within contrains of the system specs.
With other system specs (RAM, VRAM) the relative results will differ substantially

I commend the author for the effort this must have taken but I've posted this in the comments

Great video thanks for posting, some feedback though. I've recently upgraded from an i7 4790k + 1070. Can see you have a 1060......the FPS at the end is not indicative of real performance. No 1 you outside the cockpit, no 2 you aren't in a detailed payware aircraft like the Fenix or PMDG, no 3 you don't show what settings you get with AI traffic which is a framekiller on a low end system. I know this because my old rig really struggled with settings MUCH less than recommended here at anything close to an international airport. So yea sure flying the TBM with no AI traffic from external view will yield good results but it isn't a true representation of expected or above optimal performance in a heavier scenario. Great video though must have taken forever to put together!

Dang…you guys are brutal 😂. I just appreciate seeing a really well done side-by-side comparison of the visual affect that changing these settings has.

Chris

nice video, notice u had TLOD at 100, why so low, Just curious
