November 10, 20232 yr I noticed that all aircraft were taxing forward out from the gates, looks very similar to the first MS ai which did a 180 degree spin at the gates. I hope this will be "fixed" so we will see proper pushbacks from the gates onto taxiways. Jorn Lundtoft I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do. November 10, 20232 yr I recall the developer saying they have found a way to off load the Ai traffic via the cloud so will have minimal impact with lots of traffic, hope this is true Wayne such Asus Hero Z690, Gigabyte Aorus Master 5080, I914900K, Kraken 360 AIO CPU Cooled, 96 GIGS Corsair DDR5, 32 Inch 4K by 3
November 10, 20232 yr Nice to see how they seem to be catching up to FSHud regarding AI traffic. What surprises me though is that they consider controlling ground traffic the hard part and controlling airborne traffic would be much easier. That contradicts everything we see in the development of FSHud. FSHud managed to control and separate the ground traffic nicely quite quickly and is doing so for quite while now. When it came to separating airborne traffic was when the development of FSHud slowed down significantly. As of now there is still no separation of airborne traffic in FSHud. So I wonder how BeyondATC can think this would be the easy part. Airborne traffic not only adds an additional dimension and takes away the possibility to just stop an aircraft, so that also the speed of AI traffic has to be calculated and controlled for separation. There are also altitude and speed constraints of SIDs and STARs to take into account. And airborne traffic is affected by wind, which can be different for different aircraft depending on their position. To me airborne traffic seems a lot more complex than the just two-dimensional ground traffic where you can just stop and queue up aircraft when it gets busy. Anyway it's great to have this competition. Edited November 10, 20232 yr by RALF9636

It's already being done in FSLTL, so I guess they'll do it too...

November 10, 20232 yr Impressive indeed. It was only 4 months ago that they showed off their AI voice concept which did not even intend to control the traffic, just give realistic voice interaction with the sim controllled traffic. Really looking forward to see how this progresses.
November 10, 20232 yr Very impressive demo! I'm really looking forward to this ATC app. I wonder where (or how) BeyondATC get its traffic data (traffic-plans, ai models etc?) So the user has to do separation all by himself. AI Flow on flightsim.to does the same (and more). What he was talking about was getting speed instructions via ATC as the user, which no ATC program has ever done. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
