Personally, I didn't see any problem with the questions, as they seemed to be pretty standard demographics; an attempt to gather statistical data on who we are (how old are we, etc?) as well as what we want and are interested in.....

How much I earn is definitely none of their business. I wonder how they're going to determine what aircraft are used by P3D users when it's entered as free text. As I don't have MSFS I don't know how that question was presented for those users.

If it was personally identifiable information, IE I had to sign in to fill out the survey, then I might have had an issue: but as part of a general cloud of anonymous people, I had no issue with their curiosity about how much disposable income flightsimmers had/have and are willing to spend.....

I have hardly purchased anything for myself (and I do not mean just flight simulation) over the past twelve months, so my survey report will suggest that the flight simulation industry is virtually dead To be fair, the fact that I stuck with P3Dv4 for so long is the main reason why I hardly purchased any addons this year. Now that I have switched to Microsoft Flight Simulator, my financial and mental discipline may be much harder to maintain

Correct, none of it was PID and the only tracker on the questionnaire appeared to be a website quality of service one, rather than Google Analytics or similar data farming ones.

 

Athough much shorter than last year's survey (thank goodness), I don't think this year's was particularly good. As already said by some, there were poorly organised answer selection lists which will inadvertently skew the results. Also, unless I missed it, there wasn't a question on user CPU choice. Given how all flight sims are still highly dependent on CPU strength, it seems weird to ask only about user GPU choice.

It will probably increase when you start buying UK2000 airports for MSFS.

That's the easy part, Ray. It's the others that I am worried about!

I am pretty much aware of the MSFS Addons list that had. 

It is possible that they have ask the Org or Threshold and didn't get a reply, but this isn't Navigraph first rodeo at this. They should know how get data with so much of it out there and the fact the they are neutral entity in this genre. I was little this disappointed to see how this year survey was conducted. If one provides a list and the other don't then that method shouldn't be use and make everyone fill in the blanks, if that is the case.  Survey should be on a level playing field advantaging no one so it's fair for all. IMO.

Stop whining. If the userbase you're a part of supposedly demands the best and most accurate simulation out there, I'm sure the lack of a drop down list would not stop them from completing a survey like this lol. Wasn't it just one of the questions? You're trying to build a conspiracy theory on that? Seriously? As I said before, this gripe is just making an insecurity apparent. The references to nails in coffins that were never brought up also makes that very clear. Your favorite sim won't die because of a drop-down list.

First of all, it seem to me that if anyone wants to the make comment here to someone else that does not agree with your rhetoric, yet you feel the need to jump in and speak on the notion of insecurity when you are demonstrating the best case for being insecure yourself. I have a right to an opinion whether you agree with it or not. Whether or not you have yours is immaterial because I was speaking to someone else. You are free to disagree with it and move on.

There is a reason I put them both on ignore..Some of us are here to discuss while those two seem to just want to argue. That is why I didn't even bother responding to them anymore and threw them on my ignore list...

 

Anyway, I didn't mind the survey too much. I take enough bad surveys for work so this one was a walk in the park haha.
