THREE AI TRAFFIC OPTIONS

Featured Replies

The existing possibilities are these:

PSXT + REALTRAFFIC:
The good: The plane is exactly where Realtraffic says, and PSXT injects it into the simulator.
It happens exactly as in reality.

The bad: Until Realtraffic changes its server, we will have very little coverage at ground airports. Last year was incredible, but for now we have to wait. You can't use ATC either, because MSFS doesn't identify them.

FSLTL: It injects you with planes into the simulator both in the air and in airports. It has ATC and is beginning to respect separation when landing.

The bad: Planes do not carry out the actual procedures like in real life. (changes in the rolling tracks, due to weather, etc...). The planes also don't go to the gate they use in real life, like PSXT does. And finally, special real-life repaints are not inserted into MSFS by identification with the atc-id. Planes sometimes land in the wrong runway, not like in real life. Planes sometimes land on the wrong runway, because they always land against the wind. Something that doesn't always happen in real life.

MSFS:

The good: Nothing.

The bad: an airport in Spain can have 100 Chinese airlines and no Spanish ones. They don't take anything into account and the ATC is crazy.

Years ago, Lorby developed software for prepar3d that injected the planes exactly into the simulator shortly before landing. Once this was done, it landed them according to the atc laws of prepar3d. In this way the planes had ATC and they always did so on the runway that was actually used in real life.

so, lets hope realtraffic servers become the best, and fsltl continue its evolution. And of course: msfs, pay them!

You forgot the  best one, AIG.

You just saved me typing that

Oh sorry, thats true. AIG is another one, but i have a doubt:

AIG Traffic injects realtime live traffic? The software AIG Traffic controller only let me inject with flightplans already downloaded.

Wow no AIG nor FS Traffic love....even default makes the list before the other two🤣

PSXT/RT won't work without proper set of AI planes. So, my choice is PSXT/RT Pro mixed with AIG models.

I also do that.

Hopefully BATC will takes care of all that when its out.

Haha. Missing a few. AIG uses data from recent/past flights so I'll use that when I am flying out of my timezone. Which is often. I do love FSLTL for live traffic.

Until BATC releases it's simplicity and functionality of FSLTL for me.

Flight plans are better than live traffic. Flight plans inject based on your sim time, not the real world time.

With live traffic, if you were to fly somewhere where it's currently the middle of the night, you'd just get sparse night time traffic. But with flight plans, and your sim time is set to the day, and you'll get day time traffic.

It used to be ok, but some update a while back broke livery and model matching.

RealTraffic Pro licence (+PSXTraffic) allows you to shift the time to any point in the previous fortnight.

I appreciate it's not everyone's favourite option for various reasons, but if you want realistic traffic flows there's nothing better than injecting real world traffic into your sim as it happens/happened.

You forgot FSLTL.  You can use FSLTL and AIG together with PSXT/RT.  🙂

If you mean static aircraft, you just need to email Nico the "To Be Learned" file and he updates oftentimes the same day.

I assume that you have to be careful not to park at a gate/ramp that is being used in the real world? Or does the software delete any AI plane that wants to park in your spot?
