Sim Update 14

That is entirely possible in my case. I do not have any idea what my FPS are now, or what they have been in the past. I stopped looking because I just go by how it looks and feels. All of my flights in SU14 have been super smooth and stutter free. Everything outside of the airplane looks great and moves by just as it should.

If I had higher FPS in SU13, then I'll stick with less in SU14 because it looks and feels great. I really can't ask for anythng else.

Ok, then you don't know if the performance is worse or better, so you can't say it's better. I can say it's worse because I always check the FPS. Perhaps if I had a better GPU and CPU I didn't have to check it, but I have an RTX 2060 Super so every FPS counts and I can tell I have less even without looking at the counter.

I really hope they fix the performance issues before releasing.

I suspect any performance loss will disappear in the released version. I base this on my supposition that the beta code has telemetry instaled and constantly phoning home to the mother ship. Final drop will have that code removed and performance will be on par with previous releases or better.  That has been my experience all along and  expect no change with this beta.

Yes, I agree. That's my hope too that when they stop the telemetry and the spinning circle perhaps everything comes to normal again.

Going from having stutters to having none is an increase in performance. I had them in certain circumstances in SU13 that no longer happen in SU14. I've also got better visuals. That is also an increase in performance as my machine hasn't changed and yet the sim looks better.

I'm not going to argue with you about it. Apparently, what matters to you is clearly different than what matters to me. And that's okay.

Fair enough, but I don't have any stutters with SU13 and have the small stutter when the spinning circle appears in SU14 beta. If the circle didn't appear I would not have any stutters with SU14 too.

Ok, then you don't know if the performance is worse or better, so you can't say it's better.

You mentioned your performance was worse a few days ago and I replied that I thought mine was slightly better, but that I could be wrong and that it was mostly the same. I certainly didn't notice a performance loss. I did however sympathize with those that have seen a degradation in frames and wondered why some were having issues and others weren't. So, yesterday I went through the annoying Xbox insider Sim Update beta uninstall, ran through a series of tests (always at Santa Monica airport with sliders mostly on ultra) and jotted down my frames, which were 40-60 with the Kodiak. Then, I rejoined the beta to run the same setup and my frames were up @ 50-70.

I understand some people are experiencing issues, but you definitely can't say everyone is. I'm certainly noticing that this beta is giving me an overall smoother experience in the sim with an average of 10 extra frames. To be honest, this was the first time I've ever tested performance because I usually don't care or run with the FPS counter on. Overall, the sim is more fluid and smooth than anything else out there.

Again, I didn't say everyone is experiencing worse performance.

If you have no idea what the FPS how can you say you have better performance? Perhaps you have less FPS too and don't know it.

Precisely - if it flies well and is smooth I fly!

What would you say if the sim was smoother, but had lower FPS - worse performance?

Boys, they just said it: new beta build today with the assistance options reset bug fixed. Guess I'll be back to SU14 in a couple hours.

Neither on store. Do they publish the release notes earlier than the new beta?
