MSFS Adaptive LOD

Featured Replies

Hello

My settings for Dynamic LOD are attached - I'm having great performance with this mod and thank you firstly. I have noticed since the latest version, I at some airports will get a 1-2 second pause on touchdown. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

This has been my point all along.

I want 150 LOD all the time so the tool has no benefit for me.

You're in the minority. In the end it's personal preference. It also largely depends on your system and what kind of flying you do. Can I tell the difference? Yep.

Where I find it really helps, is flying into, on the ground and out of 3rd party airports with PMDG/A300 type aircraft, traffic injection, heavy weather etc. that all require heavy resources.

The mod applies the power where it’s needed, i.e., don’t need see miles of detailed terrain while I’m loading passengers at the gate.  Also don’t need super object detail when I’m at 20000 ft and can’t see it anyway.

Definitely works for me too.

Your settings in adaptive LOD would mean more if we knew your computer specs.

And soon as you land, then your AGL is 0 and LOD is 30. At an AGL of 1 foot high, your LOD is 70. When you go from 1 foot AGL to 0, MSFS has to reset the scenery to a new LOD of 0. That is what your 2 second stutter is.

With adaptive LOD, you will always get a quick stutter, maybe 2 seconds when your LOD changes.

At 7:10 in the video, is explained.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

May I ask why so many of you have so many step increases ?

100, 125 150 175 200 etc etc

depending on hardware . Like myself

180 on ground up to 5000 then 300 till 15000and then 400 after 150000

works very well with no pause or stutter .

Thanks for your help! My specs are here https://imgur.com/a/d0XUJSg

I have no performance issues outside of the stutter on touchdown, any recommend settings to avoid this would be much appreciated! :)

Not based on my experience with the current version of the mod..   The LOD changes repeatedly with no stutter.. none.

That's not at all how I understood it to work, in his case the T-lod doesn't change from 30 to 70 until he reaches 700 feet AGL and not from 0 to 1 feet, ie, he will allways have T-lod 30 below 700 feet AGL, correct me if i'm wrong.

Yes, correct! I was wrong. I only started using this app tonight.

So, I don't see why the OP apparently always gets a 2 second stutter at dense airports immediately after touch down, always right then.
