I also got a CTD the 3rd time testing. no clue what caused it , will continue playing w it but this reminds me too much of the old FSX, more tweaking then simming.....

Your CTD's could be related to known SU14 problems or the newest Nvidia driver, did the game freeze up before it CTD?

  • Really? It's night and day difference. I'm testing the mod right now, on my "old" 3090, and I get a steady 60 fps, with PMDG 737-800, parked at FSDT KORD, at 5120x1440 32:9, I barely hit 40 befor

  • I'm testing this right now and my mind is blown.  I now understand why all the hype about FG.  3080ti, 4K, mostly high/ultra settings and have been pegged at 60FPS on first test flight in the Fenix.

  • I was one of the people who basically ordered an RTX 4000 series card only because of Frame Generation. And FG is really impressive.  Now I'm glad everyone gets to participate in that experience.

It then tells me i do not have permission

There's been a number of links to a Parallel 42 post explaining how you can move your installation which removes the issues with the WindowsApps folder.

Do not use Take Ownership on the entire app folder. I once did that to allow me to gain access to the flight sim folder...completely wrecked my install. Sim refused to run. Read warnings from others too. Restore, repair etc failed. Had to format system

I can tell you when I set NVCP max rate to 1000, and used RTSS to lock at 35, we of course got 70FPS.  I did run a capture and the results were good!  But the ghosting and the issue re my 2nd screen remain show stoppers here.

Cheers

Oh, is RTSS OSD not showing the FPS AFTER the mod has generated the extra frames?

I did show the doubled FPS rate here.

Hey, if you installed your simulator a long time ago, it was installed on a locked folder and you can't modify those files. Some time ago Asobo started installing all simulators on the C:/XboxGames folder, which is a folder you can modify. To avoid uninstalling all the simulator follow this steps:

- Open XBOX app. Install it thru the MS Store if you don't have it.

- Right click on Microsoft Flight Simulator and select "Manage"

- On the General settings, select Enable, under the Advanced management features:

- This will move all your files to the C:/XboxGames folder. No files are lost.

Thanks, the issue with that is it wont let me change the drive, and i dont have avail on the same drive another 157gb

Didnt work unfortunately...

It can sometimes take a while to work, especially on folders containing many files because it has to grant access to all the folders and files within.  Just leave it running for several minutes or even longer in some cases.

I think I have got confused here with RTSS settings.  You stated 'and used RTSS to lock at 35, we of course got 70FPS'.  If I set RTSS to 35fps, it displays 35fps in the OSD with the mod running, does this mean the actual fps is 70?

If you want to be sure of your real FPS, you should use an external tool to display fps like the Xbox game bar or Nvidia Experience.
But the extra smoothness should be noticable too of course.

Why are people still contemplating changing the security permissions of the WindowsApp. It can destroy your sim from even starting. It was my own experience and has been reported by others if you mess with this folder.

Just follow the advice on how to move your installation. Developer Parallel 42 has instructions on their site and I'm sure it's also posted here. It removes all permissions issues

Yeah, it did display the doubled rate.  I'm using DX12, and this is not the mod as I uninstalled it, but this is the OSD that displayed 70 when I was set at 35.  The 35 was visible using Shift-Z.  Also MrBitst, if you uninstalled the mod definitely retain HAGS on.
