KBNA is Payware airport worth it

Featured Replies

Hi,

Getting ready to fly to Nashville

Does anyone own the payware airport.

Do you believe its worth getting it.

Feelthere isn't worth a single penny.

Its not bad IMO and covers the need for a decent KBNA although $22 is pretty high compared to other airports.  They are not the greatest but they are above some of these other newcomer devs and not up to the level of FT, FB, VerticalSim, etc.  The airports tend to be kind of ....bland?  Not sure if that is the right word but it might be the way they texture things.  They do perform well though, I have never had issues in that dept with FeelThere.  I have KSTL, KBNA, KRDU and KLGA.  Depends on how bad you want KBNA..might be a good one on sale....

I have the Feelthere KBNA.  Last time I flew into there one of the runways (can't remember which one I landed on, might have been 02C or 02L) had a big bump in it that caused my plane to jump back into the air on rollout.

If you were beta testing an airport, wouldn't one of the first things you do, would be to simply taxi down each of the runways?  Or shoot an approach and then rollout on each runway?  It would be for me.
I cannot imagine how that got thru their testing, making me wonder if they tested it at all.

As for the rest of the airport, I am not that critical of a guy -- I think the rest of it (textures, etc.) is just fine for me.

The default KBNA had a taxiway intersection with a steep incline and questionable joint that flipped my aircraft once.  Maybe the same intersection's issues got copied over into the custom version?

Thks. I will skip it. Not sure how often I would fly from or to there.

If it was really worth it, even for a couple of flights I would have gotten it.

Thanks again.

I don't have an issue with the KBNA feelthere airport and kind of like it myself.  That's my home airport and having tried all the different versions out there, this is the one I've settled on personally. They released an update a few days ago that I believe fixed the taxi intersection referenced by RandllR as well as a few other additions.

Yeah, right after checking the alignment of the runway markings and lighting

Great!  I am downloading the updated version now.  Hopefully they fixed the problem.

Here are the update notes:

Version 1.4.0 (released on 01.08.2024)>>>>

– Added new Satellite Terminal.
– Added new terminal extension where gate C12 used to exist.
– Renamed all gates according to late 2023 charts, including the new International Terminal T gates.
– Added gate numbering signs on building walls at all gates.
– Added new de-icing pad and taxi routing near T gates (formerly a construction area).
– Added more apron lights around the terminals.
– Added shuttle buses at new Satellite Terminal.

– Removed PAPI lights from runway 20L

– Increased length and angle of sequenced flashers on 2R, 2C, 20C.
– Removed bump caused by photogrammetry at gate C12 and near the fire station taxiway bridge.
– Reduced antenna height on DME.

Please encourage Orbx to demand more from Feelthere and BMW…. BNA and MEM are barely better than default…. Very poor quality compared to what Orbx used to push out. They will put pressure on, only if they feel pressure themselves. They have demonstrated the ability to do much better than this.

KMEM is from BMW & Amsim. Or does Feelthere have their own by now?

Orbx won't care, they are just the shop that sells.

It’s not bad at the occasional 40% off discount. I think people, at times, are a little bit sensational and dramatic. I have a few Feelthere airports all bought on sale, and they are at worst, at least adequate. For $10, I don’t expect perfection.

No sensationalism or drama. Merely the facts. I think we agree about the quality of their work and as Orbix sells them, I am hoping they can ask them to step it up a bit. That’s all.
