WU16 new water masks : where?

Recommended Posts

Wow, I hope they don't go this route (unacceptable)?🥴🥺

This needs a hotfix sooner than later for no more than the fact water masks were there before someone on the Asobo team (not knowing what they were doing) decided to monkey with them.😐

Other things "were there" before: ATC voices not going silent, Bing tiles not changing version or color under your eyes, panning through the horizon and through sun bloom did not cause stutters... not only are there glaring bugs and issues unsolved in years, but the number of regressions makes me absolutely dread any update and unfortunately also makes me think that with FS2024 we will start the same via crucis of years of fixing and breaking things because the team working at it is the same.

Have any of the previous world issues been corrected in this update? The scenery texture tiles appearing on the landscape when flying? The infamous Isle of Man problem? Those word not allowed land bars across water?

It's a world update not a sim update.

I understand that, but there was also a separate update of 582MB for me.

Sure, and for Sim Updates the excuse will then be: it is a Sim Update, not a World Update, why expecting scenery fixes and changes in a Sim Update... Going circles here, each and every update timepoint can be theoretically used to fix stuff (for free). Like the World Hub they announced, there they also will use the AIRAC update to bring the first 50 improved airports into the sim. So why not using a World Update for scenery fixes outside the WU area...

Please do explain how scenery fixes don't fit into the category of a "world update".  Asobo certainly seems willing and able to break scenery across the globe via world updates, so logic would lead me to believe fixes are allowed as well.

The way I understood it from their Q&A's is that world updates add and improve scenery, sim updates add new features and fix stuff.

Reading the official forums, still no word on the Bahamas. Hopefully something is released before the next Sim Update (March).🥴

That's still wrong. The disappearing watermarks was not intentional.

Yeah, that was an AIRAC update.

Maybe they don't have a fix yet.

Well of course, but it is still really poor QC, as we have seen in a number of updates.  It does make you wonder what is going on.  It's pointless giving us some water masks if the take away the others (by design or not), especially for an area as significant as the Bahamas.

My fear is that it will be put right with the usual Asobo urgency (= not very urgent).  In a recent Twitch video, Jorg said the water masks would be repaired 'in a mater of days'.  I wonder how many days that will be?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I wonder if they actually realise how poor they really are at QC and noticing these blatantly obvious issues, it really does beg the question "do they even play their own game?".

If they do, how can they be so happy to release updates that are continuously plagued by new issues that weren't there before the update....time and time again.

It's so obvious it's funny and yet so very very frustrating at the same time.
