February 15, 20242 yr Quick flight KLGA-lower Manhattan-KLGA at 1500ft. What's the deal with PG fully loading only when flying directly above? Has it been like this for a while / forever?? I haven't been paying too much attention to PG cities for a while. Btw I'm getting around 15-16gb used VRAM over Manhattan. Only about 6-7gb used RAM. February 15, 20242 yr Absolutely love the visuals (and limited functions) of the new G3X. But I'm not going to lie, I'm gutted that autopilot FMA annunciations are not included (yet). I don't mean the G3X's integrated AP, just the mode annunciations, which don't appear on the PFD, even when the autopilot is activated in the VL-3. But.... appreciate it's a first beta and I can't wait to see how this new G3X develops! The Captn of CapFrameX captures 😀 those are remarkably constant frame times and explains why it is now so smooth, near ideal. I have extracted a 3 minutes section from your benchmark to illustrate this even further: it's the frame times, not the frame rates. Enabled new soft gears on C172 and Cabri. New high accuracy physics system to enable vibrations and micro movements. I haven’t tried the beta yet, and Matt was pretty clear that there is no change to aircraft like the PMDG737, however, I read this section above as a more accurate ground contact model was implemented and there is an additional soft ground collision model for tires that can be implemented. It seems like bullet point 1 is what people are seeing in the 737 and other aircraft and bullet point 2 is a level up from that. At least that’s how it reads to me.

The satellite simulation, which uses orbital mechanics to place satellites in real positions in space, was slowly forgetting about satellites over very very long time frames. So eventually you would not have enough satellites to get a position, and thus the LOI message. Now the system is no longer forgetting about satellites, and the position solution is resolved just fine. 🙂

February 15, 20242 yr 4k, 12900ks, 4090: seeing better performance but turning on realtime online traffic (unsurprisingly) still hammers the thing nastily: down from typical 50fps to high 20s/ low 30s at EGLL (before frame generation). Often thought that traffic might be a candidate for its own thread(s). Any word on whether this is one of the multi-threading improvements promised for MSFS 2024? 14900ks, RTX4090, 64Gb@6000-30-36-36-T2, Samsung 990Pro 2Tb , Dell G3223Q 32" 4k Gsync + 27" secondary monitor.
