beta 1.37.2.0_x64

Featured Replies

Can not do flight over one and half hours. ctd because of perfdiag logger has been reached. max currently 20971520 bytes.

Short flights no problem, Event ID 1001 MoAppcrash prior I get application events warning - certificate for local system about to expire.

Any thoughts would be welcome

There appears to be a few people experiencing CTD's on the current BETA (myself included).

There is a thread on it here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/ctd-with-exception-code-0xc0000005-fault-bucket-1945005070971162045-type-4/630222/49. No fix or workaround appears to exist at the moment.

I've gone from a fully stable SU14 to getting this crash every flight anywhere after 20 minutes. Thats part of being in a BETA I guess. Its too much work to redownload the current SU14 version so I'll just wait for the next BETA version and hope there is a fix.

Which is exactly why you should only join the beta if you are more interested in testing than flying.

I recommend clearing your shader caches, dxcache and glcache.  There are dozens of videos explains how to accomplish that feat. After I experienced back to back CTDs I went looking for advice on how to resolve and that seemed to be the universal agreed to potential solution.  Worked for me and honestly my sim install has never run better. I’ve never cleared my shader caches in MSFS 2020 before tho I did regularly in P3d.  I will start a regular routine now on msfs based upon what I’m seeing. It’s easy, doesn’t cost a thing.

Good luck with your issue,

-B

You need to be reporting this over on the official forums, not here.

I've cleaned the shader cache from time to time but as I said, never had an issue with CTD's until this beta.

Were you back to back CTD issues with SU15 or a previous build?

Seems there are more and more people commenting on the MSFS official thread about getting CTD, but I'm guesing its probably a small percentage else the forums would be awash with CTD complaints

For me it's smooth and stable for now, even horizon panning and bloom stuttering seem improved.

One thing I noticed - and found confirmation in another thread - is that ground handling and landings have become even easier than before. Even small GA aircraft seem to be on rails.

I will have a better idea after further testing anyway.

I opted out after 3 CTDs in 3 consecutive flights. The return to SU14 required a 2Gb download which isn't that much nowadays, however download speeds were excruciatingly slow.

The download times? I've been away from the sim for a year.

Yes the download time - unfortunately..

If u have a update from the sim it is better to wait a day or so or do it somehow at night..

Yes, and none since. As for all the SU15 benefits being reported I am enjoying a very smooth and trouble free beta once again (I’ve done most of the open betas).  And most certainly the SC cleanings were needed in my case regardless based upon the noticeable improvement in sim fluidity and smoothness in general and the absence of previous cleanings on my 3,5 year old day one purchase of MSFS 2020.  Again, good luck resolving your issue.

I am noticing the same thing on SU14 and so agree completely. However, I never flushed the caches or did anything else. I did get rid of the Frame Generation add-on and slowed my v-sync down from 60 fps to 30 fps. Honestly I can't tell the difference, presumably because my eyes are old and slow like the rest of me. I'm sure that SU15 will be a revelation, but I can wait until a later beta or full release to find out.
