Turning radius in the C172 still completely sucks for me. The front wheel only turns a few degrees to the left and right with full deflection on my rudder pedals

I'm not signed up for beta but happened to own one IRL. Rudder pedal provide only 10 degrees steering with front wheel. The rest is done with differential braking and throttle.

I'm glad they're bringing it closer to real-world behavior, one of my biggest gripes about the Cessnas in MSFS is the ability to turn without using differential braking. Here's a very nice visual example of how it works in a 172:

Copy that! Care to explain?

If it ain't broke don't fix it. this beta seems to work well so not looking to rock the proverbial boat.

That is exactly how a real 172 is configured for rudder pedal steering. The pedals are not directly linked to the nose wheel - they connect to bungee cords which in turn move the wheel.

The pedals give a maximum deflection of +/- 10 degrees even with full pedal application. If you want to make a sharp turn you need to use differential braking.

Ahhh ok thanks guys for the info. Really good to know that the plane is behaving closer to the real thing. How hard should I be hitting the brake when turning? I know I have to add power but it isn't doing much.

It's good question. While in motion tou don't want to ride brakes and try to control your speed with throttle. If you get enough motion momentum to able to turn sharply, but of course not to  fast to skid LOL When winds are calm I usually bring yoke aft it help with sharp turns without brakes.

So glad they have open public betas now. The final Sim Update releases have been much more smooth with open public betas than before when there were no open public betas.

I have to say that... generally, I like it 🙂

Sure. Never mind those people who are plagued by pesky CTDs... As long as you're happy! (why do I keep feeding the troll?)

Never had any crashes here but this update indeed broke my reverse thrust for a320 fenix, fbw a20n. Headwind a339 and a300. The animation plays and it displays REV on the display but no rev thrust or braking actually happens.

That’s strange as I landed at KSMO in the Fenix. Rwy is 3500ft/1066m. Wouldn’t have been able to do this if reverse thrust wasn’t working.

The issue is mentioned in the release notes as a known bug which will be addressed in the next update.

Yeah, I know, I was agreeing with your post and trying to give an example for those without RL C172 experience at the same time, but I mixed up the quotes, sorry 😉
