So you are now saying they are not reducing from ultra to high, not the other way around like in your original post?

Are you aware this is how FSUIPC was created many years ago? It takes a very clever person to disassemble a executable and analyse the contents. The original UIPC was created by Adam Zofran and then P

You can't change MSFS graphics settings like Cloud Quality and expect it to stick while running AutoFPS because it is controlling that setting and restores it to what it was when your flight session exits, regardless of what you have tried to set yourself in MSFS.

The readme FAQ covers this in detail:

My default MSFS graphics settings are messed up and each time I try to change them back they get messed up again. How do I fix this?

  • You are likely trying to change these default MSFS settings while the app is still running and you are in an active flight, where the app will override any such changes you try to make.
  • Either exit the app completely or be in the MSFS main menu (ie. NOT in a flight), then you can go to the MSFS settings screen and change your default MSFS settings to what you want and the app will restore these at the conclusion of a flight session or upon exiting.

i see thank you

I have been getting issues with auto_FPS clogging simconnect, not allowing other addons (fs2crew for instance) to connect. This is not consistent but it happens quite frequently. The solution is obviously turning autofps off, connecting whatever it is and than restarting autofps. Usually this does the trick for me.

I haven't heard of that one. I don't really know why that happens for you since the simconnect attachment process is essentially the equivalent of signing up to receive data from MSFS and should be no different to any other app doing the same. Unless I can reproduce it, noting I have never seen it nor heard of it with over 100,000 downloads of this app and its predecessors, there is not much I can do about it. As you say, starting AutoFPS after these other apps connect to simconnect seems to do the trick, so I suggest you keep doing that.

I am pleased to announce the formal release of MSFS_AutoFPS version 0.4.4.9, now available for download here. Note for existing users of recent versions, the app should offer you the option to auto update to this new version without having to manually download and install the app.

My thanks go out to everyone who helped shape this release, especially the regulars on my github discussion forum, and some others here, who did most of the heavy lifting.

Summary of Changes:

  • Four new Flight Type profiles available in expert mode.
  • AutoOLOD is back for MSFS2024.
  • Auto settings reduction improvements.
  • VRAM+ improvements.
  • General UI and app improvements.

Just wanted to drop in last night and say this latest release is working great, and my performance is much improved at larger airports now.

Working amazingly on FS2024. It's just being flagged as malware by Kaspersky. Had to white list auto fps for it to stop.

I have seen the Readme online but is there a file that can be printed that serves as a manual? The README.MD file I found to download (raw file) does not print properly.

Thanks

Yes. Since it was first released. It's automatically loaded thru the exe.xml.
