MSFS Auto FPS App

Featured Replies

I use it with my 5080. TLOD still causes massive FPS drops so I use this app to lower the TLOD on the ground and increase it once I'm airborne. Makes a massive difference.

Are you aware this is how FSUIPC was created many years ago? It takes a very clever person to disassemble a executable and analyse the contents. The original UIPC was created by Adam Zofran and then P

I have seen the Readme online but is there a file that can be printed that serves as a manual? The README.MD file I found to download (raw file) does not print properly.

Thanks

Sorry, there is no printable manual (I don't get paid enough 😄). The readme started out quite small but has grown quite large over time. Nonetheless, it is in dot-point form and is structured in order of the features that appear on the UI, with an overview or guidelines where a feature set is a bit more complex.

Does anyone with a 4090 or better card use this app?  Just curious

Well I do. When I initially created it, I thought that if nobody else liked it then at least I would use it, so if I, with a 4090, am happy with it then you probably will be too.

I could always lash up a PDF version of it and put it online somewhere if there's a demand for it. It'd be my way of paying back ...

I've just figured out how to do it with a github print extension and package it in with the installer and place into the bin directory of the app on installation. I'll also put it in the file set on my github repository.  I appreciate the offer though. 👍

Edit: I've just uploaded the pdf version to my github repository here. Is this what you were after @Rob G?

I would love that. I would even be willing to make a small donation (maybe like $10) towards it's creation.

I made a start on a PDF version - but see yours is just as good - if not better 😉 The beauty of it staying on GitHub is that it's more easily editable by you.

Answered (above) ... and if you're offering cash, it should really go the [humble] author! 🙂

Agreed. I hope I didn't sound ungrateful that you were offering  but I had it in my mind it was hard to do and it only took a minute to add the printable readme extension to my browser and it worked first time with an excellent result. That never happens with software! 😂

Just got around to updating to v9 - my ESET AV keeps deleting the exe file. None of the other test versions triggered Eset but this one did. Had to manually disable every setting in Eset - the standard "disable protection" didn't cut it.  This is just FYI in case there's something you can do - I was finally able to get it installed.

I have no idea what causes some AV programs to flag a particular version of my app and not others. Kaspersky is the worst offender but it looks like you may have identified another one. The best course of action for users like yourself experiencing this is to report the exe as a false positive to your AV developer so that it reduces the chance of this happening for others in future.

Good day. What is the best way to prevent the TLOD from reducing when I go back to the desktop in flight? I find the APP thinks my FPS is non FG, and it takes it from 300 in flight to the TLOD MIN.

What does the app status line say the graphics mode is when MSFS doesn't have the focus?

If it says PC, you are likely not using FG, or are using a version of FG that the app can't detect. If the latter, what FG are you using?

If it says FG Inactive, then the app shouldn't be changing TLOD because FG is inactive when MSFS does not have the focus.

If you are still having an issue, direct message me the contents of an associated flight segement from your log file, located in %appdata%\MSFS_AutoFPS\log, and I will take a look and tell you what is really going on.
