February 24, 20242 yr Commercial Member Today we released a massive update to GSX. I don't usually post changelogs here, but this one is more interesting, because it has some key features which I believe are important for the long-term growth of the product. Here's the complete Changlog:https://www.fsdreamteam.com/couatl_liveupdate_notes.html I'll comment on some of those that I think warrant more attention: Quote Support for external add-on packages. Now 3rd party developers can create GSX add-on packages that can be installed in the Community folder alongside GSX, with new custom vehicles and operators. All the work done on the airport customization features has allowed the creation of an incredible community of creators and extra content, which resulted in many hundreds of custom airport profiles available. The recent addition of another layer of customization using Python scripting, has raised the quality of the available profiles, which can now go very deep into custom stop positions by-aircraft or more user-friendly parking groupings. This new feature is potentially even bigger, because it will allow any 3rd parties to create a standard MSFS package that can just be added in the Community folder, which GSX will recognize as an add-on, and will use the vehicles found there in addition to the stock ones. Add-on packages can be repaints (we have a PaintKit in Beta, available on request), but also completely new vehicles, and they come with their own scoring rules, so you might have GSX vehicles that appear only on specific airports, or countries, or even specific airplane types. We already know of two 3rd party add-ons, which will be released shortly, but I'm sure many more will come. Quote Passengers animation system improved, with passengers being able to recognize the airplane door and internal ceiling height, and crouch if required (depending on their own individual height). This is actually more important that it seems because yes, it's nice to see tall passengers lowering their heads to enter the airplane (if they are too tall for it), but what matters is what is behind: to allow this feature, we added a whole new set of capabilities to our custom animation system, that will make animations change depending on particular conditions, which might be both internal in GSX but also related to the flight. It's important for the future expansion of GSX to make it more usable with smaller airplanes, not just airliners. And of course, it's a prerequisite for the upcoming "Seated Passengers" feature: before we have seated passengers, it best we have a better way to enter the airplane and stay in the Cabin (hence the addition of the "Height" parameter for each door and the aircraft "Ceiling" to the Airplane profile. Then we worked on increased reliability, adding two features that should help when the sim is either slower than usual to start, or other issues related to Simconnect and/or the maximum Simobject limit: Quote GSX Pro Fix: When Simconnect fail to respond for more than 10 seconds, the Couatl engine will try to disconnect and reconnect entirely and, if the connection still won’t come up, the program will automatically Restart, which should help with the GSX Toolbar Menu being stuck on Loading. GSX Pro Fix: To prevent a “Tasklet error” happening when the simulator first connects, but was particularly slow to start, GSX now waits for the sim to arrive at the Main Menu, before doing any activity, which should fix the Tasklet error on start. About these two fixes, we would like to hear some feedback, because the issues are difficult for us to replicate, so we had to fix them "in the blind", hoping they'll improve for those users that are affected. Finally, it seems the issue of the wrong Pitch attitude on Vatsim when using GSX Pushback, has been completely understood, and a fix should be released, which will come in an updated vPilot client on March 1st. February 24, 20242 yr Now I get why it has been a while since you pushed any updates. Usually the incremental updates to GSX are relatively frequently, as you always touch up on small things, but then nothing was pushed for over a month and I started to wonder. Now this is the answer. 😄 Edited February 24, 20242 yr by Farlis

February 24, 20242 yr Thanks for the heads-up virtuali, this new version looks very promising. It'll be interesting to see the new passenger animations. Having the Couatl engine disconnect and reconnect automatically is helpful vs having to restart it manually. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

February 29, 20242 yr How often does GSX Pro go on sale? I'm thinking about purchasing it if it works well, especially with the new Fenix B2 and PMDG 737 and FS2Crew products. What's the lowest price you've guys have seen it for? You own 3090 which has costed like over 1500€ that time and asking for a price lower than 36€ for a great add on that is updated regularly? What does that have to do with anything? I worked extremely hard to get that. Besides that everyone's personal financial situation is different. Don't assume that everyone who drives an expensive car is rich. Absolutely ridiculous comment. Apologies, my point is, this is super great add on that deserves every penny and salute @virtuali for keeping it up to date with new features. I think it's been on sale a few times but not sure what the lowest has ever been. I know it's currently 40% off though until 3rd March. So probably a good time to pick it up. December 20, 20241 yr It's an old thread I know, but I stumbled on it looking for an answer to adding custom ground handling equipment to match the VA I fly with. If I'm understanding this correctly, this is now possible as of the 2.9.2 update? If so, where would I find a paint kit and instructions for creating a custom operator for our VA? No matter what the name of the country on whose land it lies, an airport is a place you can see and touch that leads to a reality that can only be thought and felt." - The Bridge Across Forever: A Love Story by Richard Bach
