Back in the day, this was my dream bike!  Luckily, I decided living was better than the alternative!

I remember a SoCal ad for this bike back in the late 70s.  60 mph in first gear,  95-100 mph in 2nd gear, and you're in Arizona
when you get to 6th gear! 😲

I'll give Honda kudos for developing a 6 cylinder bike. It was unique for the time...in reality, the heat it generated on the inboard cylinders and the fact it was only slightly >1000 cc...it wasn't all that powerful...great marketing however! The CBX experiment did lead to the more popular CB900 series...a much more practical and better handling bike.

I like the big trails for comfort. I ride this big boy and will only use the car when i'm forced to, doesn't matter the weather...

I have it since 2019 and put 50,000km on it already.

I've actually gone and bought myself my first bike a couple of days ago; a 2024 Triumph Bonneville T100 in competition green.

Then my college best friend went and got himself killed taking a neighbor's new Honda CB900F around the block on the 4th of July while home on leave, and soon thereafter my wife and I started having kids.

They were a lot of fun, but the real danger seemed like the other guy's problem until it...wasn't.

Beautiful. Good luck Richard and remember; everyone else on the road is a potential word not allowed.

Take care!👍

Rule 2-  should you be seen, they will aim for you !

These 2 rules kept me alive on motorcycles.

My recommendation would be to get a good set of air horns to replace the cheap beep-beep ones that come with
the bike.  The ones I had saved my ass several times!

Back in the 50-60s near Brands Hatch motor racing circuit and Farningham on the main A20 road. They renamed Gorse Hill to Death Hill motorcycle rider`s put a record on the jukebox in Kingsdown then raced down to Farningham roundabout and back before the record finished. A lot never made it back. Some impact speeds were around 200+mph head-on with vehicles.

Richard, provided you don’t somehow get access to a time and transport yourself and your bike to 1950’s England and attempt to race to a nearby roundabout and back within the space of a record played on a dukebox, then  I’m sure your new triumph will provide you years of enjoyment and fuel for your soul.

Welcome to the fold.

Welcome to the fold.

I was there born in Swanley. Sat on the embankment near Farningham roundabout watching them race in packs and hear the impact of some.

PS. yes, I`m getting on a bit.

Back then no speed limit. Just need a provisional licence a Triumph Tiger Cub 200cc capable of doing a ton. Then race of into the sunset and your parents hope you survive.

A Tiger Cub capable of doing a ton?

Interesting!
