The new version of frame generation DLL file

Featured Replies

The above is where to drop the two new file for the Steam version of MSFS. In other words both need to be where flightsimulator.exe is located.

New DLSSG file was created a few days ago but just posted for download yesterday.

file name: nvngx_dlssg.dll

You also need another .dll file to make the new DLSS work in MSFS.

nvngx_dlss.dll

Thanks for the heads up! This is only for the fortunate ones that have a 40xx series, right?

And for us commoners that need to use the FG mod, will this work?😉

It only works for series 40xx Nvidia. It's not clear how much difference these incremental versions of the two DLSS .dll files make.

That's odd, looking in DLSS Swapper it appears I already have that version installed and the last time I changed it was a week or 2 back

For those with the MS store version, both files should be placed here: C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content

To verity that the correct version is installed, use GPU-Z.

Like Island Sim Pilot says, if you have the older encrypted installation, DO NOT try to access the WindowsApps folder. Instead, move to a new location (all in the video).

I can confirm this new version works with the Mod for Pre-4000 series nVidia RTX (RTX only) graphics cards.  I am having great success with the mod, this latest file, and I have combined it with the developing AutoFPS mod for MSFS.  My system specs are in my message footer below.  Note that with the mod for pre-4000 series RTX's there are multiple steps involved.  Each is simple.  But take caution fo safely backup all default files as you go, and log the steps in a text file so you can reverse them if needed. The steps to take are spread throughout the linked video.  BTW, this is not my video.

May sound daunting but it is not.  Just be deliberate about it.  My MSFS is marvelous even in areas and airports with great scenery density.  i.e. I don't need no stinkin' 4090...  LOL

The complete information on that pre-4000 series mod can be found at this location:

Nvidia compiled this DLL version 3.6.0 only last week, Monday 25/03/2024 and uploaded it March 26th. you had it a week before they released it. 😁

you were probably looking at the other DLL or an older version, easy to confuse them.

As i  use only frame generation on 4090, do i need to update also the regular (nvngx_dlss.dll) ?  Just saw that i have the 2.4.12.0 file version.

I would (and did). Best to keep those type of files aligned.

you don't HAVE to as we all didn't update it until now. but why not update that now anyway while you are at it, it doesn't cost much and can't do any harm.

Is this the regular DLSS DLL file?

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/

the file size is much larger ( 32.4mb) compared with the default ( 13.8mb)

I prefer to place it manually than use dlss swapper
