Reverted to version 551.76 and still have studders.  Updated to 552.12 and studders.

Also getting weird lines (kind of V shaped) across the runway now as well.

Cleaned the cache and tried Auto FPS App on or off, no difference.

Was there some sort of change to the sim that I missed?  Everything was fine before?

Try also delete rolling cache inside MSFS and turn it off and on.

Delete DirectX shader cache

Or... use DDU to uninstall the previous driver in Windows safe mode (with network -  option 5 of the advanced startup menu).

When running DDU opt for the recommended "clean and restart" option. When the PC restarts, install the driver in advanced mode, opting for a clean install...

At the same time make sure you don't do this during retrogradus Mercury periods.

Rise the left leg and the right arm three times in coordination and blink the eyes while blowing a baloon before doing it also helps, as well as a nice cup of Portuguese red wine !

Where these cache files are normally located?. Seems to me I forgot to get a track of them.

%userProfile%\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache
%localAppData%\NVIDIA\GLCache
%localAppData%\D3DSCache

PC should be rebooted in safe mode to get rid of everything. Before I do it, I disable shader cache size in NCP.

Doing this might also sometimes help with stutters:

  • delete .dat files in %localAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SceneryIndexes

  • delete Content.xml and ROLLINGCACHE.CCC in %localAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

Inside MSFS do you have cache On or Off?

I'm not using rolling cache.

MY PC is two years old, and so is my Nvidia driver. No reason to change it, it works great. 😉

Years of drivers updates and never had a problem with all my Nvidia graphic cards. The newer Nvidia drivers have often new features and better visuals above a supposed fps improving.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

I understand I am am missing a great deal of fun, like running DDU, having to try and cure stutters,  having to reinstall MSFS 2020, Reinstall Windows, delete cache, rebooting in safe mode,  etc. etc. etc. I just hate fixing things that aren't broken. 😁

Fair enough 😊 I stopped using the DDU method a while back. I’m pretty obsessed with pretty much anything else though (as you know) 😅

Check Anisotropic filtering in thein game settings last time i updated GPU driver it cancelled it out. Once reset to 16x square type blocks on runway disappeared.

I wish Microsoft would guide us through deleting cache...

I think it worked!

Really want to thank the community for all the helpful suggestions.  Did a DDU update (holding my left leg in the air as suggested) as well as all of the suggested cache deletions.

Studders seem to be gone and I think the V shaped lines on the runway are gone as well.

Back to flying.

Boiler Up!
