It's not really very similar. Something like chess didn't come down in cost/size due to large leaps in algorithmic efficiency (there were some, but remember 1997 was home to Pentium IIs at 300Mhz), it

These guys are cooking. Easily the most interesting ATC app at the moment.

The speed of AI advancements is mind blowing. Can you imagine what will be possible in 5 years?

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

And a 50% price drop for developers, apparently. So SI is about to get cheaper?

Interesting announcement from OpenAI. A reduction in the price of SayInentions would be nice.

AI will answer before I asked my question, I assume

I believe they've announced the monthly price will come down from 30 dollars to 15 dollars (read this elsewhere).

AI will detect you're not doing anything in the cockpit as everything is automated already so will remove you, as pilot, from the loop. If you're lucky you'll be given responsibility for wheel chocks and pitot covers 👀😎

Ahh, source? If somebody has a source on this, that would be awesome.

$15 USD is something I wouldn't mind trying for a few months, once SayIntentions.AI gets really good and really mature. I own BeyondATC right now, so I also hope BeyondATC gets really good too.

But after a year or two years, if SayIntentions.AI is very mature and advanced, and the quality is really good (ie. it handles IFR as well, and has traffic injection which the ATC also controls, etc), I would definitely consider trying it for a few months at $15 USD per month.

If anybody has a link to this statement, that would be really appreciated!

I wonder if this has anything to do with the Apple iPhone/ChatGPT deal?

No, that wasn't said on the video. Brian specifically talks about pricing and what the 50% price drop of OpenAI means for SayIntentions.
Yes it means that price will drop (significantly) but OpenAI is only part (~50%) of the logic behind SI.

So where ever you read the $30 > $15 drop, it's not coming from SayIntentions itself.

you won't need ATC anymore in 5 years, and you won't have to pilot anymore. all done by AI, all autonomously. MSFS will be a pure scenery explorer, just what the x-planers have said all along. 🤣

no need to fly to attend a business meeting, all decisions will be made by AI, you'll only have to sign the finished papers, press hard, 5 copies.

and best of all, no need for an expensive home pc anymore, everything will be pre-decided and calculated, all processes and visuals generated by AI and streamed to your doorsteps. and we all will be gone fishing. Paradise !

Thanks, that's what I thought too.  I can't see SayIntentions.AI dropping the price to $15 USD. Maybe they can drop it to $22 USD or $20 USD, but the OpenAI costs are just a portion of the costs SayIntentions.AI is using.

Maybe @martinboehme can provide a link to where the $15 USD information came from.
