I may or may not be a nerd, but I remember several of these.  I was heavily into the BBS systems and FidoNET; haven't thought about them in ages.  There was also a public access Unix system where I got into USENET.

Many decades ago, I ran a 32 node BBS using PCBoard. Since at that time I was a member of a religious community, PCBoard was kind enough to donate the BBS software. U.S. Robotics generously donated 32 modems for the system. A local dealer kindly donated sixteen 486 computers. I ran two nodes on each computer. Until this generous donation of equipment and software, the original CandleNet Abbey ran on an ancient 286 donkey powered computer. Until I finally shut down the BBS after 12 years of operations, this old computer hosted the PCBoard software.

For worldwide connectivity, I was a regular on RIME (RelayNet International Mail Exchange). I also added Don Barba's Intelec network to CandleNet Abbey BBS. Between the two networks, I hosted a total of 132 forums while acting as a moderator for 12 of the forums.

Does this confirm I was a nerd? 😄

I played on the Vectrex arcade system the asteroid game!  I was a FedEx tech in the late '80's and installed Powership computers for companies like Steve Jobs NeXT computer.  Those black NeXT computers looked amazing at that time since all others was beige.

So many people pronounce "Halley" incorrectly. I will let "Zee Ex Spectrum" slide with a deep breath and some meditation

I first played Oregon Trail on my Timex-Sinclair 2700. I have a Windows 10 version now. In 30 years, I have never made it to Oregon. I have been killed by Indians, run over by buffalo, died of dysentery, etc.

I remember most of that stuff. Nerd be me. As Sierra Hotel says, it comes in handy.

Here at the old folks home I must be a confirmed nerd if what Martin posted is correct.

I share a dining room table with 4 women.  I am the only guy.

I play BINGO twice a week and share a table with 3 women.

I play poker once a week and of the four of us playing two are women.

I play Skip Bo (a card game) on Saturdays and there are 4 women and myself at the table.

This afternoon I started a Scrabble group.  Just 4 women and myself.  I was teaching them how to play.

Eat your heart out Sue!

If only this were high school!

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.
