I might be misunderstanding you but, as part of the MSFS Support Forum SU15 Polls and Discussion, the FAQ section contained in the link below says this: (my italics).

Do I need to do anything with add-ons in the community folder?

We highly recommended that you move the content from your community folder to a temporary location on your hard drive before applying the patch and replacing after testing the new version.

(Which is the way I do it.)

easy  way to do it is  simply  rename your  community folder,  than  after  the  update   delete  the  community folder  that  it  will have  made,  than   rename  your  original  folder  back  again

Thanks for the heads up Terry, that's new for me. I had no clue they changed the way how to deal with the community folder.

I have no idea why it was happening. After the updates were complete I'd go into the Content Manager and discover that all of the WUs were showing as "Not Installed" or Partially Installed.

Never really figured that one out.

Are you certain that the WUs themselves, rather than the updates to the WUs, had been uninstalled during installation of earlier SUs? If so, that is really weird. I don't see how that could happen.

So just got around to installing the SU and WU updates today, along with new SDK.  Did it in dev mode which I often use.  I don't think I've ever renamed the community folder for an update.  I did do an FSUIPC install and also updated GSX Pro.  Download speed was typical for an MSFS update.

There was never a set pattern. Some WU were completely gone and others were partially there. This is the Steam version.
