There were actually only 2-3 likely places. Then I tried to narrow it down by finding the exact same perspective. The key here was to focus solely on the mountains in the background and not on the ground. Once I had that, it was easy. The spot was within just a few miles. Well done. This Half Dome screenshot looks amazing, especially considering it‘s made from satellite imagery and not from photos taken by planes. I wonder if this is what they call „countryside TIN“. It would kind of make sense because they mentioned that it was a new method. This combined with their new 3D ground tech will be epic. Jörg said they had acquired 1 million square kilometers of it and he also said that he believed it would be the long-term goal to have the whole world covered. So your wish might come true. i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2

I believe it is, Maxar is one of their announced partners. In the video they mention MSFS, and also mention Blackshark as a partner. Also the fact they are using similar terms like "from 2D to 3D". It's far from perfect, but it's good enough to be used on a Flight Simulator. Hopefully Microsoft and their partners will find other applications for that kind of tech, because it can boost the progress. Hopefully it’s live weather… Given that the colors/lighting are the result of the new atmospherics engine in MSFS 2024, I assume it would be the same and applicable to both live and manual weather? Sure, my worry is that to get the better cloud lighting, the engine will need better cloud density / formation, which we know the current live weather can't / doesn't do. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
