Navigraph survey undercounted MSFS market, possibly by a lot

Navigraph is corrupt? You learn something new every day.

They are deliberately undercounting MSFS simmers. This is very clear.  And they do this every year!

Why would they do that when MSFS is their biggest customer group? They cannot force people to do the survey..

It seems your type of humour is lost on some here. 😄

Absolutely, Navigraph is probably the closest we have to representative polling of the "serious simmer" sect, and one that 3rd party developers of high fidelity add-ons closely watch (among various other indicators of course) to gauge the sim market for their products.

Yup, I agree. Navigraph does a great job in the survey, don't get me wrong. But if they ever figure out how to capture the XBox users of MSFS in their survey, boy oh boy, MSFS's market share would look even more overwhelming.

To do that they would need to actively search for the respondents, using cientifc methods to run an accurate survey (they would need the correct sample). It would cost them a lot, and for what? The effort would be huge, for no real advantage.

It's not their main goal to have an accurate sample of the flight simulation community, they are more interested in surveying their own community.

From my understanding, Navigraph also works on XBox. While there are users of Navigraph who own a PC and XBox, and may use Navigraph on both, I assume there are also people who only own an XBox and are using Navigraph.  Somehow, Navigraph is unable to capture enough of those respondents in their survey, I guess?

Sigh...

Yeah, I mean that it would be nice if Navigraph could capture more of the respondents who primarily use XBox for their flight simulator.  Note that I said, "it would be nice." I totally understand why Navigraph didn't capture more XBox respondents though. And it's still a very well done survey, probably as good as it gets.
