PMDG Brake Problem

Featured Replies

Hello community,

Looking for some advice.   Everytime I go through the checklist, and GSX backs me up away from gate on the PMDG 777 they tell me to engage the parking brake (I do), then when I want to taxi after they unhook the pushback rig the parking brake disengages correctly but the Sim still thinks it is engaged (Parking Brake Configuration error).  Anyone else have this and figured out to get around it?  Thank you in advance.

I think this may be a known issue according to Randazzle's post in their forums. Check that.

Set the parking brake to realistic in the fmc aircraft settings. I've heard it's a bug. Then operate like the 737, ie depress the toe brakes and release the parking brake.

Thank you @Drumcode, and @Car147   I will do what you advise.

Apparently you cannot touch the parking brake. If so the plane will not recognize when you release it. Also, i noticed you are unable to use the mouse click to release it.

For me, I have it set to Realistic. To set: depress brakes and lift handle. To release: depress brakes and release (the brakes).

Something changed with braking in MSFS a couple of updates ago and it can get "confused". I've found that pumping the brakes usually fixes the stuck brake issue, in general.

I had this issue on my first flight with the 777.  I figured out that I have to hold the brake button on my joystick and at the same time press the Control and  Period keys on the keyboard.  Basically the default commands!

This works everytime except I could use a third arm sometimes.  I appreciate the accuracy but I need an option to make that process simpler on my setup.  I am sure it's a bug and will be fixed soon!

This might help for those that are trying to get the brake working.

I ran into an issue where the brake wouldn’t engage at the gate unless I pressurised the brake source with the electric hydraulic pumps, a little like the Airbus yellow hydraulic pump when the pressure is gone.

The brake source should last for at least the length of the turnaround…

Double post - sorry!

The hotfix released on Friday, June 28 fixed the problem with the Simple application of the parking brake.
