Hi Dave, Just seen the version 3 announcement and it's looking good.

So as a daily user of P2ATC who flies solely in VR in Europe will the new voices sound more authentic and have European accents please?

Thank you, Bruce (Bruce953 previously)

Just noticed this, looks good. Thought it had gone a bit quiet on the BETA front for a while !!

Hi Dave,

We are in August 2024 and I am in search for a MSFS ATC solution for GA/bush flying. I am not in airlines but love the little trips along small airfields. I am very impressed with P2A. At he moment I am about half way the trial period and was on the edge of buying when I saw the video announcement for V3. I understand that pricing is yet to be determined but I am already sold on it.

So what sould I do? Wait for V3 or buy V2 knowing the next version is around the corner??

Me? I'd buy it now.

With the release date this month I would probably wait, unless there's a massive discount - and that's not been announced yet .. ..

Oh man, I am happy to hear about this! I wasn't aware it was under development. Pilot2ATC is by far my preferred tool over the current implementations of SayIntentions and BeyondATC, but its always a hard sell for people given the voices. These upgrades look fantastic and I look forward to digging into it and putting out yet another pilot2ATC tutorial for the community showing off this great work. So happy to see this!

Excellent News Dave

H Dave
As others pilots I  wait this new version 3.
Is it still possible to import SimBrief plan?
I saw that it is possible to integrate charts in the Flight Plan, so if we do not have a Navigraph sub year ==> is it possible to take in account the last month I paid to navigraph?
In my case I bought only 4 sub per year Navigraph so it will be great if we can see the last Charts sub paid.
Or do-you integrate other Charts Tools as Chart Finder3 (20$ once time) or Could I create for airports my own File Charts biblio?
If not It is a very good idea to integrate these charts in Flyplan

Here's an update on V3 status.

We had hoped to get an early release out by the end of August, but that is today, and it's not quite ready.

New target is to have it out by mid-September, and if we can get it out sooner, we will.

V3 will have a data conversion tool so you can convert your V2 data to the new data format.  Navigraph is expecting it will take a while before they are releasing data in the new format, so downloading V2 data to the V3 Data folder and running the conversion tool will keep you going on existing or new Navigraph data.

As for charts, V3 can display any charts that are in a PDF format and stored locally on your system.  For FAA charts, it can download them directly and, because they are properly geo-referenced, they can be displayed as an overlay on the maps.

Importing SimBrief flight plans is fully supported in V3.

There will be a 10 day free trial available for all users, including existing V2 users.

On the matter of pricing.  The price for a full, perpetual license will be the same as V2, $59.95.

Current users will have the ability to upgrade their V2 license to a V3 license for $29.95, for a limited time.

Full documentation is not going to be available for the early release, but we are working on a quick start video that should be enough to get up and running, and some additional videos that should make the transition easier.

And here's another video.  This one creates an IFR Flight Plan and takes a short flight using the Smart Copilot to do all the interaction with ATC.

Dave

Dave, will VFR be available in v3? And if so, will there be a video for VFR before release? Many thanks.

John

Hello Dave, thanks for the new vid.  Will Virtual Reality compatibility within X-Plane with a native pop-up UI be a thing?

Also, European procedures and voices?  I have my fingers crossed; hahaha : )

VFR is supported, as in V2.  Expect some additional enhancements in this area as we move forward.

There is not a native VR version of P2A.  However, V3 is designed to work better with VR and has had quite a bit of testing in VR.  The Smart Copilot view is expected to be heavily used by VR Flyers.

European procedures are still on the futures list.  V3 has lots of voice options.  With the Microsoft Online voices, you can get hundreds of voices, most of which are non-US.

I don't think I have ever anticipated a release as I have for V3. I still love V2 but V3 looks even more polished. Any word yet on an early release date?
