Help MSFS will not load :solved -UNBELIEVABLE REASON

Featured Replies

SOLVED; Posting solution here. !!

Now I fly in VR,  but I always load up MSFS in 2d first, set up flight then switch to vr and put my headset on.   If I want to just do a bit of 2D I don't plug my headset in or load up the Meta software.  Well it seems there was an update to my headset when I used it for another pc app,   and I was signed up to the beta.  Removed the Beta  and installed the stable Meta Software,  not even plugged my headset in  or loaded the Meta software and MSFS  now loads fine.

Once loaded VR works fine !

Crazy that this would affect it !!!!!!

No idea why something in the Beta Meta software must have been running in the background and interfering ( even though my Quest 2 was not plugged in or switched on) or the Meta app running??

Crazy !

Oh well all sorted now but lost my flying window  , lol !!! ;-(

Been away for a week, nothing changed, now it gets that the bar is almost to the end then CTD,  have added nothing  since last used it a week ago?

Same in Safe Mode

Tried PC reboot, tried PC rshut down etc

find this in event  viewer

Any help appreciated, or is it a reinstall?  ;-(

I have the store edition  have signed in an out of the store and the Xbox app rebooted and still the same

😞

@Bozdogdo you have the OpenXR Toolkit? If YES then open it and disable via checkbox.

Had the same issue yesterday after not opening msfs for over 2 or 3 weeks.  Thought at first it was the azure issue as that was going on at the same time but once they resolved azure still had the issue of not loading.  Did vanilla install multiple times to no avail.  Found the solution of disabling the openxr toolkit this morning on the FS site.  Looks like you can re-enable after msfs loads if you need that toolkit, though haven't tried myself yet since I was just happy to get msfs up and running.

I don’t think you can re-enable the toolkit once in flight.  At least I tried but could not bring up the menu once in a flight .

if there is a way would love to know 😉

Turn off open xr toolkit or come out of the occulus beta driver.  I turned off the beta and still works with open xr toolkit.

It is simple to open the toolkit once in flight. With hotkeys. I would suggest ditching the silly Alt Cntl F2 and F3 stuff and use simpler keys. I use ^ v < > to go through the toolkit menu. And > to exit toolkit. I happen to use ^ to open toolkit. I can find the four arrow keys while wearing the headset with my fingers easy enough.

EDIT: As for starting the toolkit, I always do that before booting up MSFS. Always. And then to open it (i.e. to see the menu in the headset) I just use the up arrow ^. (I reset all the hotkeys in the toolkit options).

Best to just uninstall it given the developer will not be supporting it anymore.

I understand he may patch this or occulus may.  The toolkit improves my clarity greatly

Yeah,

OpenXR Toolkit crashed my installed MSFS - sim would not load - crashed at about 80% loading…

This is the problem with unsupported software,

& my Oculus VR software is working perfectly now - phew!

Disagree entirely, when Meta release the fix it'll be perfectly fine for Oculus users to use. I use it daily with my setup with zero problems, just because something isn't supported doesn't mean it should be uninstalled.
