July 26, 20241 yr What do you people think - Is captain sim 767 V2 worth the investment for P3D? The reason why I asked is because recently I joined Fedex Virtual airline and apparently looking at their fleet (and for real) they fly 767 a lot, At the present we do not have any other alternatives for 767 other then captain sim in P3D, We had level D 767 back in FSX days which I loved flying but that no longer works on P3D 4.5 and above. Captain sim are charging $80 dollars for base package then another $20 or so for freighter expansion. Personally I am not huge fan of captain sim, I do own their 757 on P3D and it is just about okay not PMDG level of course but capable enough to fly from A-B on Vatsim. Any thoughts? July 26, 20241 yr I think it’s worth it if it’s on sale for $10 or whatever they do every year. It’s not a bad plane and it looks really good, but it does have VRAM issues with their 4k textures that causes CTDs on my 12gb GPU. There is a fix for that on their forum to downsize textures and fix the issue. Also, the main cargo door on the freighter version doesn’t work. They cancelled their freighter version and then released a very watered down version of it to appease the community. Orman
July 26, 20241 yr I agree, it is only worth buying when it is on sale for $10. July 26, 20241 yr Just a quick note, someone did a merge of the Level -D aircraft that was P3Dv3 compatible and merged it with the Quality Wings 757 VC (since the gauges wont work from the Level-D 767 as they are 32bit). Yeah I was really hoping Level D created something to bring their 767 to 64 bit, unfortunately they stopped developing and I tried using merge in the past, didn't work well and ended up removing the aircraft.
July 27, 20241 yr Should IMO be freeware. If you really want a 767 the best option might be to reinstall FSX and get the LVLD. Vic green
July 27, 20241 yr Since you own CS757, then you know what CS767 is like, completely same system, with PBR texture, looks better, but more heavy on performance. I feel OK when I bought it, and see few update fix some issue here and there, but now don't expect any support from CS, even basic install and activation issue, so won't recommend it anymore. Now I mainly fly FF757/767 in XP12, I won't say it's better all around, still some issue there even CS got right (like VNAV engagement after TO, I so miss that), but at least it's a working and supporting platform...

If you really want a 767 in a modern sim, install XP12 and get the Flight Factor one. That's a better 767 than CS.
July 30, 20241 yr I have always enjoyed the 767 from Captain Sim. The exterior model is nicely done, there are a lot of liveries and the VC and function is great. I know they have made some rather poor aircraft lately, but the 767 for P3Dv5 is nicely done and worth the money, even when not on sale. December 9, 20241 yr Author Does anyone know when captain sim do end of year sale where they sell everything for $ 9.99. I think if I remember they normally do around end of December and only for 24 hrs. I want pick up their 767 for P3D as well as their cargo expansion pack.
December 9, 20241 yr I'm not certain, but I have an email from Captain Sim dated 22 December 2018, when I purchased their B757. I think I bought it as a result of that sale. Microsoft's Copilot AI says... The Captain Sim $9.99 winter sale typically occurs around late December. For example, last year's sale was held from December 21st to December 22nd, 2023. However, the exact dates can vary each year. dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
