I have a different problem: fenix installer slows down the download and stops at 800 MB and I can't try the new update... now the plane is broken, the old installer is gone.

Would recommend sending in a ticket so Ben can look at it in detail.

Bob - GSX Pro is really a step up and also with the Fenix/MaddogX . I would not fly with-out it. No problems here with P3D and MSFS btw. Michael Moe

  • Every time I read a thread about issues with GSX, I am so glad I chose not to get it this time. Once was enough with P3D, I learned my lesson.

  • I think the advice on their discord was to NOT uninstall the fenix. Just run the new installer.

I found what the problem was.........................it was the free MSFS popupanel manager from flightsim.to.

The popupanel manager worked fine with the previous version of the Fenix A320, and continues to work fine with other aircraft, such as the PMDG 737 and 777.

For some reason, whenever I use it with the latest updated version of the Fenix A320 - I get the freezes - without it in use the Fenix A320 loads and flies as I would expect it and with no freezes.

I noted that there was an updated version of popupanel manager, downloaded this and gave it a try - still the same problem - so I have left a note for the developer.

I will never understand this.

They even specifically write the new installer in a way so that it doesn't have to download all the files each time an update comes out but only the ones that need updating.

So what is the point of this clean install routine?

Well..you said it...the NEW installer is programmed in such a way that it will DL only updated files. The OLD installer was NOT. So why should there be an issue if you want to get rid of all the old stuff to put the new stuff instead!?

An example why this routine is good in some cases: I never did a clean install of the Fenix except when it was the only way to do it. After installing v2, I noticed that the login screen of the APP is called 2 times upon starting a flight. Somethimes the first login screen would just log me in (the second also), somethimes the second screen would require to enter my credentials. So what I did is simply uninstall everything and clean up all leftovers and reinstall the latest from scratch. Voila....issue gone away.

Good catch. As a lesson learned: when something does not work, always start up with a clean community folder 😉

Funny enough I just posted on a different thread that Iv’e been having some CTD’s in the Fenix while at the gate prepping the aircraft, similar to what the OP described.  I haven’t had time to start investigating but I wondered if it has something to do with GSX &  the Fenix as I don’t seem to have this issue with the 777 or the ATR which I have been flying quite a bit and using GSX.
I do need to investigate further as the Fenix is normally rock solid and performs the best out of any add on

Do you have the MSFS popup panel manager installed? If so, I think you will find that is the cause of your problem.

For years now the fenix has been my most reliable aircraft bar none, but since the last update if i use the Fenix and GSX together 9 times out of 10 i will get a freeze, whilst using GSX at the gate, use it without GSX and its solid again.Im not using the MSFS popup panel manager,so im lost to what the issue is.

GSX is like a bug magnet. Try without  it.

I have also freeze with Fenix after update every time I start it, clean install

Problem seems also popout panel manager or maybe Fenix changed something with the popout logic

No I do not,

I am wondering if there was some conflict with GSX, I see there was another GSX update which I just did. Will try again

Hi , I have the same your problem and I agree that MSFS panel Pop out is the issue with last Fenix update . I also wrote a note to the author but I replied he doesn’t have Fenix so he can’t test Pop out manager with Fenix 😞

he suspect that the issue could be caused by POPM is it now uses the latest version of SimConnect SDK and there could be a conflict with latest Fenix release

so he suggest to try a previous version of Pop out manager (4.1.0) but I’m sure I tried yesterday and freeze was still present

howewer for sure GSX has nothing to do with this issue

if I use Fenix and GSX without panel Pop out manager I have no issue at all : no freeze no any type problems

Just performed some test . Fenix get MSFS freeze also popping out panels manually (so without using pop out panel manager) .
I have to try a flight with Fenix without popping out any panels to try to understand if the issue for Fenix is really popping out panels or Fenix is the issue itself

anyone experiencing any freeze with Fenix Withiut popping out any panels ??

man, am I happy I have not updated this thing - I may check it out again in November (if then).
