July 27, 20241 yr I have spent the last 5 hours trying to 'fly' the updated Fenix A320, and I have not seen any other posts re any problems, so I thought I would post this in the hope someone can help me. I downloaded the new Fenix installer, and decided to uninstall the existing Fenix A320 to have a clean install. After installing, I cleared all my cache and shaders. Then I spawned at Gate 41 EGSS (default scenery). All started well, and I started to prepare the aircraft, using the auto GSX option. All worked fine, fuel, catering and passengers loaded. I then intervened and manually requested pushback via GSX. Everything then froze, and I assumed that the freeze was due to my manual intervention. BTW, I have followed the procedure of unticking and reticking the A320 in the GSX config, as advised during the updated Fenix A320 installation. Rebooted and started MSFS again. Spawned at Gate 41 EGSS, all looked good. Started to prepare the aircraft by manually using GSX. It froze again Spawned again, and this time no GSX, just loaded the aircraft from the EFB - all looked good - and then again another freeze. Changed airport, and spawned on the runway rather than a gate - a few seconds after spawning - another freeze. Change the aircraft to the PMDG 777, and selected a STAR approach into SAVC using FSIPanel - worked like a dream, and everything worked as I would expect. Then changed the plane back to the A320 (all liveries used are Fenix stock liveries) and tried the same approach. FSiPanel prepared the aircraft, and I took control. About a minute into the flight - another freeze............................. When I get these freezes, I have not been able to do anything other than use Ctrl Alt Del to use the task manager to close MSFS Anyone else had similar problems? Any thoughts on what I need to do? Cheers George Westwell
July 27, 20241 yr Not sure about your specific problem, but on the Fenix Discord the proposed solution for GSX related problems seems to be to delete all Fenix related folders in ...\AppData\Roaming\virtuali\Airplanes and restart COUATL after that. I would probably quit the simulator first and try the procedure, just to be sure. Asus ROG STRIX X870-E Gaming; Ryzen9 9950X3D; RX9070XT; 96GB RAM; 4GB/2GB M.2 SSD; 8GB HDD; LG 45GX90SA-B

I gave that a try - but just wish to point out that the 'freezing' has also been occuring when I have not been using GSX. George Westwell

July 27, 20241 yr Try uninstalling GSX. It’s been causing issues with other planes as well. If uninstall and then everything works, you know it’s GSX. If you still get freezes, then it may be another problem and you can reinstall GSX. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

Once was enough with P3D, I learned my lesson.

Bob - GSX Pro is really a step up and also with the Fenix/MaddogX . I would not fly with-out it. No problems here with P3D and MSFS btw. Michael Moe Michael Moe
July 27, 20241 yr I think the advice on their discord was to NOT uninstall the fenix. Just run the new installer. AMD 7 7700X, 32GB DDR5, RTX 5060ti 16GB, 2 x Samsung 1TB NVMe, 1 x 4TB sata SSD, Windows 11 Prof

I don’t use it so can’t say, but there has been an uptick in posts about GSX issues the past few weeks. That’s why I suggested trying without it installed. I had purchased it some time back, but it never quite worked right for me. The support wasn’t very good so I got a refund and moved on. Seems to work for many people so who knows. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
July 27, 20241 yr I’ve had this weird freezing a few times too with GSX. Literally GSX freezes - as in the ai people just stop moving - and nothing is clickable in the flight deck. Only a reboot can get things back on track. I’ve only seen this with the Fenix and not the 737 or 777. GSX is fantastic when it all works but boy I’ve had a love hate relationship with it since it came out over a decade ago! Edited July 27, 20241 yr by bennyboy75

They even specifically write the new installer in a way so that it doesn't have to download all the files each time an update comes out but only the ones that need updating. So what is the point of this clean install routine?

July 28, 20241 yr I have a different problem: fenix installer slows down the download and stops at 800 MB and I can't try the new update... now the plane is broken, the old installer is gone. fenix-app.log: 2024-07-28T17:27:54.8148418+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:27:55.8130348+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:27:56.8114966+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:27:57.8153223+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:27:58.8165789+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:27:59.8179222+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:00.8165794+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:01.8151652+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:02.8148992+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:03.8156334+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:04.8183563+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:05.8116258+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:06.8104696+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:07.8092235+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:08.8146212+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:09.8130615+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:10.8166232+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:11.8052549+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 % 2024-07-28T17:28:12.8160165+10:00 INFO [FenixApp.Common.Install.UpdateRunnerHostedService] [0] 1.32 GB/2.15 GB (0 b/s) :: Files 404/2096 :: Percentage 40.25 %
