FSS 727 and Leonardo MD-82

Featured Replies

I got the FSS 727 as I enjoy the older generation aircraft. I like it, but may need for it to mature a bit to really get into it. My question is, is the MD-82 a deeper systems simulation than the 727? Keep in mind I’m not trying to compare the 727 to a md80, just looking to see which developer has the most robust systems simulation. If I end up getting the md80, I suspect I will still enjoy both aircraft.

The Leonardo Maddog MD-80 is superior systems wise without a doubt. It has been around for at least a decade, perhaps two. Solo developer or used to be, perhaps Earnie Alison can afford staff and an office now! 😇.  I have both you won’t go wrong with the MD-80 IMO

I agree.  The MD-82/3/8 are some of the most underrated airplanes for MSFS.  People got upset about the textures but I mean it looks like an MD-8X to me.  Despite it's age, there are frequent updates.  Lots of fun.

The Leonardo MD-8X is one of the greatest addon for MSFS.

There are not many things that are NOT simulated on this aircraft...

Its simple the best that is Leonardo's flagship and that is their pride.  Hard to beat. I see a lot of streamers fly the 727 but scared to fly the MD-80. its complex and closest to realty in MSFS for airliners.

The Maddog is an awesome addon. Wish they would do the md95

The MD-95 though in my mind is so far different.  I think we have a better chance seeing TFDI do the MD-95 (717).  However I've always been surprised that leonardo didn't do the MD-90

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

Personally I’d rather they went the other way and did a DC-9-30, though that might be as different as the MD-95 but in the other direction!

Sorry I meant the 90 not the 95 and you’re right.

Yeah a proper DC-9 with 2 CIVA INS' would be really cool.

IIRC DC-9 were never fitted with those. Most navigation was done with VOR and NDBs. Quite a few DC-9 recieved GPS upgrades later on in many forms.

There are only two reasons why I don't uninstall MFS, Leonardo MD8x and A2A
