An introduction to the Fenix A319 & A321 Expansion - Fenix

Their posts enrich their excellent product. There are many amazing products for MSFS today, but their attitude and the desire to share a passion have been their trademark since the first previews of the A320. @Aamir seemed like an alien to us; in fact, in this world, he truly is.

I can't wait to try them

Ps: imagine the A350, the A340 or the A380 made with this dedication. Please, let me dream. 🙂

This is actually interesting information presented in an appealing way, not like his meandering, pointless, self-congratulatory word salads.

I'd appreciate a more FPS-friendly flightdeck.

Very much looking forward to all the improvements that the A320 will receive *and* the A319/A321 expansion.

I have a Bravo in my loft. I gave up on it after the reverse thrust issue arose on one of the levers. (Snapped wire). Not sure I’ve got the skills to fix it sadly 🙁

You can only know for sure of that if you try fixing it! 🙂

I don't think any particular skill is required really to fix a snapped wire.

Maybe you’re right and I should have a go!

update:

I’ve been up and got it down. Throttle 3 has 2 snapped wires which must relate to the buttons. What could possibly go wrong?!

Just cut the covering back a tiny bit on each side of the break and then reconnect them and tape them up with a bit of electrical tape.  Or you can get really advanced and put a cut of heat shrink tubing to connect them and really, not much could go wrong if they are already broken and they aren't live power wires you are trying to splice 🤣

I've taken it apart, throttle 3 has two wires that have come away. I've ordered a soldering iron kit on a famous next day delivery online retailer that will be here tomorrow.

Now browsing prodesksim at the various options in the hope I manage the fix, and I'll hang fire for my WinWing stick that I've pre-ordered!

Thanks to those on here who have spurred me on! Even more excited for the Fenix update now.

I don't think it will be too long a wait, if i recall it's usually within a few weeks of their initial post. Hopefully we start to see more info and vids of the coming aircraft, leading up to a launch date. Then again, i could be totally wrong.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

I know it won't happen but it would be amazing if they released sharklets at the same time and surprised us all.

Do you already have some experience with soldering or is it your first time?
I am in the same boat with my HC Bravo, except that at least several buttons aren't working so more than 1 wire has snapped.
There's a YouTube video explaining things but without soldering experience I am still a bit apprehensive about it.

For most aircraft it is still good enough, and for twin jets I have the Thrustmaster Quadrant, but still it would be nice to have it fixed.

Flightsim rig:
CPU: AMD 5900x  | Mobo: MSI X570 MEG Unify | RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo | GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3090 | Storage: M.2 (2 & 4 TB) | PSU: Corsair RM850x | Case: Fractal Define 7 XL
Display: Acer Predator x34 3440x1440 | Speakers: Logitech Z906
Controllers: Fulcrum One Yoke | MFG Crosswind v2 pedals | Honeycomb Bravo Quadrant |Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant | Stream Deck XL & Plus | TrackIR 5 Tobii eye tracking

Yes as a child at school some 20+ yrs ago. I managed fine however I think there will be other ways to join the wires back together these days (I’ve seen something that looks like a sleeve of sorts that can join wires with some mild heat - Google “heat shrink solder connectors” - I discovered these after ordering the soldering iron). Either way I now have a Bravo again and need to decide who to buy some airbus stuff from (leaning towards flightsimfactory).

Ian.
