August 30, 20241 yr This topic was raised a while back. Using a 7800 X3D CPU. The temps spike right up to 86 degrees C. Only over Europe - if I fly over South Africa or Australia/NZ the temps are in the fifties. How does one make Microsoft/Asobo aware of this problem? Very annoying - and other simmers are experiencing it as well. Edited August 30, 20241 yr by TrevorS
August 30, 20241 yr Since 86°C>Tj max (89°C), I guess MS won't do anything. You're running with FPS unlimited, right? August 30, 20241 yr could it be the complexity of western europe scenery , with all the world updates , cities , photogrammetry etc. maybe its just alot more taxing on the system than Aus /NZ/ SA those countries being large and often pretty empty on the whole ? maybe ROG Crossair Hero X670e , 9900X, TUF 4090 , X4 NVME's. August 31, 20241 yr I brought this up a while back and what helps is dialing back TLOD to very low levels, like 60 or 70, and disabling PG can help as well. August 31, 20241 yr Well, it's been hot here in western Europe, so the sim simply reflects it by heating the CPU accordingly 😜 As Real as it gets! September 4, 20241 yr For me it was turning TAA back on that made the temp spiking much more bearable. before i was using DLSS ultra quality , now back on TAA a much quieter PC ROG Crossair Hero X670e , 9900X, TUF 4090 , X4 NVME's. September 4, 20241 yr I'm not really able to fly around Germany at all in MSFS. Flying to, or even just overflying it leads to massive stutters and eventual FPS slowdowns for the rest of my flights (even e.g. from LHR-DXB). I've removed all WU's for Germany etc, but it has never really made a difference. And this is also on a 7800X3D with a 4090. I also used to experience exactly the same on my older PC as well, with a completely different MSFS install, the older one with TAA and the newer one with DX12/DLSS. I have no issues anywhere else globally. It's really frustrating. Edited September 4, 20241 yr by Redge

September 4, 20241 yr Whilst all of the above advice and guidance may be relevant, does this still happen with any addon scenery removed? I say this as I have seen reports of addons being accessed by msfs even when flying in different areas to where those add-ons are located (specifically related to ORBX, though there may be others). On another note, my 5800X3D was running at up to 90c on the stock cooler and replacing it with a relatively cheap aftermarket cooler keeps temps generally below 60c. September 4, 20241 yr With my 5900X I have 85 °C peaks on the CC0 and about 80 °C on the package, not frequently but they are there, the average temps are around 67°C. Stock settings, flying in Europe, using HWinfo. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
