I just had a real flight in the Otter (DHC-3) seaplane and i am hooked! This was the single engine turbine. In MSFS 2024 it looks like the twin otter will be standard. Is this plane being developed by Aerosoft?

Yeah, it's based on the MSFS payware version Aerosoft released back at the beginning of 2022.

Quite what's been changed from that release we don't know (I'm hoping it's pretty much everything)

For the moment I'd suggest tempering your expectations.

The original payware release was extremely poor so unless Aerosoft have put in a lot of effort into fixing things it's not going to be great

I saw it noted on the list of aircraft by developer that iniBuilds has been helping Aerosoft clean up the Twin Otter, so... it'll look pretty but expect each patch to implement fun new bugs.

It's being made by Hans Hartmann and Inibuilds, with ini only doing the art.

I'm confused, LOL!! The *twin* Otter is a DH-6, while the single is DHC-3 ... so which one are we actually talking about here?

OP is asking about the twin otter. They were just mentioning they've been in the single one.

Aah yes (thanks) ... brain fart on my behalf! I should learn to read! I have the Aerosoft Twin Otter ... and really like it - despite the [apparent] bugs. A revised version would be more than welcome.

Can't be made by Hans Hartmann, he is supposedly still working on an Aerosoft CRJ update that has been promised for years 🤣. /s

The Aerosoft Twotter was not a complete fail, it was one of the first real payware addons, lets say medium-fidelity. Still good to fly.

BUT

- abandoned by Aerosoft

- as Inibuilds and Hartmann will continue work on this bird - tell me which Inibuiilds and which Hartmann aircraft is bug-free? None.

 

So unfortunately, it wont get better...i guess it will be worse than the early Aerosoft version.

All i know is i am looking forward to it when released. I know it won’t be perfect but hoping it gets adequately patched. 

Still a favorite of mine despite the general lack of love in the community.

Almost tragically sad, but Mark from AlmostAviation has dismantled his Otter cockpit. It's history...

I loved watching him assemble it with love over the years.

Anyway, he's GIVING away his custom A/P hardware panel. I'd really hope someone here with a respect for the plane could obtain it from him to keep the dream a little alive..
