October 7, 20241 yr At FSX times, I used to fly often in and out from EGCC operating RYR. I kind of miss that, however I am not sure if the MACCO or Taimodels version is better. I read that MACCO sim is going to update, but on youtube I cannot find any recent uploads from the airport. Is there anything planned from another dev or what is currently the best option?
October 8, 20241 yr Also read that MaccoSim is working on a v2 of their EGCC. However, given that there hasn't been anything from their stable after MMUN (released April 2022), you have to wonder if they are still interested in flight sim development. Wouldn't surprise me to find out that iniBuilds are working on a version. October 8, 20241 yr Also been wondering this as I have the Macco but those guys have been so quiet, will it even be ported over into 2024. Maybe someone on their discord can tell more.

As for MaccoSim being silent, they are not the only developers to have gone AWOL. Others that spring to mind are PilotPlus and (to a much lesser extent) Simtek Solutions. I have been trying to contact the latter for months about the "bent" runway in their LGPA Paros scenery without success. Taimodels looks to me a little underwhelming in comparison.

The price isn't too bad as well (£11.99 and I only paid £7.99 as I bought it early on, in it's release), as a half decent stop gap, until a next level Manchester is developed. Though I think the dev has suggested that EGCC-sized airports or bigger would be too much for him to handle. October 8, 20241 yr I seem to remember Macco Simulations saying the Manchester update would be in multiple increments and will take a considerable stretch of time. Which means it wouldn't drive sales and fresh buyers, if there are any, aren't going to be aware of it. Wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't happen. As the other versions get older and fall behind I expect a heavyweight to do their own version at some point.
October 8, 20241 yr I have the Macco version and concur with all the previous comments. I would also recommend the Macco version over anything else, having had a few over the years - at least as a stop gap, as there isn't much else to go at to compete.
October 8, 20241 yr Macco haven't gone "AWOL" as such as maybe other devs like PilotPlus. They do have a Discord server and there is some activity in there by the devs but they are also busy with IRL work I believe. They did post this preview of progress being made in August. As my local large airport I would have loved to have seen further updates but we shall see how this goes or if another developer will jump in on it. I suppose the development work at EGCC going on at the moment doesn't help either. Looks very nice, would be great if they could provide a further update but appreciate their not full time devs on this.

Last I saw in their updater app was from September I believe that actual dev work had started. They had been trying to get in to get new pictures etc. Not sure if it's changed, but at least at the time the first version of their EGCC was released, it was literally one guy. It might still be. November 29, 20241 yr Author Hi me again. 🙂 Is there an update regarding EGCC? Right now it's on sale and I am wondering which version I would buy? Did they already put an newer version online? If so, are there any videos of it? Or has in the meanwhile another dev annouced something regarding a EGCC rendation?
November 29, 20241 yr Following... 🙂 Lots of memories in and out of EGCC for me when my grandmother was alive and lived in Leeds... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
