Hi,

There is no mention about arming the LNAV in the latest FCOM as stated by fakeflyer as if it's done manually by the pilot.

" They still didn't add the ability ti arm LNAV during an ILS approach, but we have a WX Radar?? "

No, he means they didn't add the option to enable the automatic arming of LNAV for the missed.  Presumably it would be turned on as another configuration option.

Although, someone elsewhere says that they did add this, so maybe they finally did?  I guess we'll see.

  • If on an ILS approach, why would you need Lnav??

It's quite common; at this point it would be the rare operator that doesn't have it.  LNAV auto-arms on the approach (any type of approach, not just an ILS) so that, on TOGA, LNAV becomes active and a

Hi,

Think I got it now. PMDG is adding the auto arming of the LNAV, there will be no manually pressing of the MCP/LNAV button during an ILS approach, now that makes sense.

Yes, it is shown and talked about in the second video linked here in this thread. The option is there now (even selectable). Case closed.

Nice.  Three years after released in MSFS and who knows how many years after we've been suggesting it in FSX and P3d.  Can't say they don't get there eventually.  😁

Well „on the way“ can still mean anything between 2 weeks and 2 years if I just remember the universal efb. Just saying. But happy about any update which comes along as I could still withstand buying the iFly Max so far

In his video, A330 driver says it's not a common option and confuses new pilots when they encounter it as the FMA says LNAV is both active and armed.

LNAV auto arms during an approach and goes active once TOGA is pressed. What was confusing to me was the wording of his statement, seemed as if he was looking to press  LNAV on the MCP during approach.

Remember that his experience on the 737 was at an airline that is famous for, well..  being cheap.  They're a decent operation, but it's just a fact that their aircraft do not have many extras.

This is actually a very common, almost ubiquitous, feature on 73s these days.  As far as confusing pilots... I mean, if a pilot cannot understand how the same lateral mode can both be active for the current segment and armed for the next, I want a word with their training department...

Do they have a TOD pause yet? iFly has it. I remember all kinds of excuses why they couldnt do it. I had to use an external program to calculate and pause.

The PMDG 737 has always had pause on TOD.

Sure. It froze everyting when used. Last i remember. That's why I've been using an external program.

No kidding.  I'd be pretty annoyed if my airplane wasn't giving me guidance on the missed.

As for new pilots, might have something to do with 200 hour pilots not having a lot of experience.  I see a lot of that at work these days.
